Derek Riordan wants to leave Celtic on a permanent deal during the current transfer window and would consider a move to Burnley, according to the player's agent.

The 25-year-old, who joined from Hibs in June 2006 for £200,000, has failed to force his way into Gordon Strachan's first-team plans - even during times of player shortages and despite his impressive strike-rate while at Easter Road.

Riordan's agent Jim McArthur told BBC Sport: "Five clubs want Derek on loan, but if he's to go it must be on a permanent basis. The only club to have made an official offer is Burnley for £400,000 plus add-ons. Derek would be very keen to speak with them if an agreement was reached."

Speculation suggests Celtic value Riordan at nearer to £1million - though Bristol City's reported offer of £750,000 may be close enough for a deal to be agreed before the transfer window closes next Thursday.

Meanwhile, no decision has yet been taken on whether to sign Seweryn Gancarczyk on a permanent deal. The left-back, who currently plays for Ukrainian side Seweryn Gancarczyk, may cost as much as £2million.
