A Bournemouth fan tells me we're in for their 18 year old "superstar" Sam Vokes.

We're up against Crewe and Doncaster and the fee is £175k.

I've never heard of him, can anyone else shed any light?

Think he scored down here against us last year in the 2-2 draw.

Not really sure what he's like. Wouldn't have thought its what we need at the time in question, but

i'll reserve judgement should we get him....

Hardly likely that GJ will be telling the truth to the press about transfers.

This lad sounds like "one for the future". If that's the case I can't imagine there's any rush to sign him before the window shuts if we are interested unless he's really something special and would be in contention for the first XI.

Just read this. Bournemouth fan seems to really like him but he's only got 5 this season not set the league alight...

well tbh ive sen bournemouth twice this year and both times (v brighton in lge 1 and v mk dons in jpt) they played him as a lone striker who cant play as a lone striker. and bournemouth are pretty mch bottom of lge 1 so bit hard to set a leage alight fronm that far down the table.

saw enough potential there though, possibly jo kouffor maybe?

Early bird report: Bournemouth ST says more or less what you'd expect - one of best big lads they've seen at that age, still raw but learns quickly even in the lone striker role. Will be decent player season after next and because of their parlous finances he's likely to go cheap. Apparently, he's a friend of another of m'colleague's daughter ...
