Olé
Let's be honest, the only one who really tried to influence the result in our favour was McIndoe who was the best player on the pitch by a country mile and ran himself into the ground. And the only person trying to influence the result in favour of Palace was Richard Beeby, who abandoned the handball rule for them whenever required (at least four times) and waved on the GBH-fest.So a draw is a fair result. Neither side did enough to justify a positive result of any kind. We were poor in several areas, Sproule and Carle never got in the game (Carle's worst game yet) and by his own high standards even Elliot had possibly his least effective game in a City shirt - in fact, our whole midfield was terribly disjointed and totally lost the battle of two five man units.Meanwhile, for Palace Beeby was effective, he managed to miss several handballs but allowed a number of good advantages for them when any fair official may have considered the contribution of either Butterfield or Hill as something approaching a foul, certainly the Palace first team had no interest in playing football, just kicking things high up in the air, man or football. So, in the end, if you're a fan of any sport or anything equating to the beautiful game you've got to want McIndoe to beat Beeby. On the one hand you have a ref who engaged in back-slapping and giggling with Palace players before running out proudly alongside them, in a game where he coincidentally could not then spot a Palace handball from 2 yards or recognise cynical football. On the other hand you have McIndoe, a solitary player who wanted so desperately to be top of the table that he ran himself ragged, moved at speed with the ball, tried to beat players, and generally did everything in his power to produce winning football. Michael McIndoe I salute you for trying to win a football game playing football. Mr. Beeby, Warnock's cheque is in the post....p.s. after watching this fixture home and away, am I the only one who feels compelled to use PhotoShop to edit the racism logo to 'Lets Kick Football Out Of Football' and supply a range of appropriately branded signage and material to Neil 'Colin W**ker' Warnock and his talented players so they get the recognition they deserve for contributions so devoid of football. MarcusX
Just watching the Sky programme, nice to see referee having a little chat before the game and joke with palace players.Did we miss a trick here? By coming out early we left palace there with the ref
