WesM
Had an interesting debate at work last night which we managed to drag out for near enough the whole shift. If you could turn the clock back and write any song in history, what one would it be?This quickly diversified into wether or not we were deciding on kudos for songwriting ability or financial gain. If we're talking financial gain, then many people would choose near enough the same songs........bohemian rhapsody, merry xmas everbody etc, so forget the financial rewards. So my question to you all is:If you could take the credit for writing one song in history, what would it be?No listing groups of 5 songs saying it's impossible...pick one.I wish that I'd written Hey Jude.Go! All Those Wasted Years
This Land Is Your Land:In the squares of the city, In the shadow of a steeple,By the relief office, I'd seen my people. As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking,Is this land made for you and me?There was a big high wall there that tried to stop me,Sign was painted, it said private property,But on the back side it didn't say nothing,This land was made for you and me.Inspiring!! WTFiGO!?!
Tough this...maybe Something performed by The Beatles written by George Harrison. The greatest love song ever written according to Frank SinatraHello mate, fancy seeing you here.... and funilly enough you've triggered my answer - 'All those Years Ago'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7DUfjlFyqANow! I'm shouting all about loveWhile they treated you like a dogWhen you were the one who had made itSo clearAll those years ago.I'm talking all about how to giveThey don't act with much honestyBut you point the way to the truth when you sayAll you need is love.Living with good and badI always look up to youNow were left cold and sadBy someone the devils best friendSomeone who offended all. Were living in a bad dreamThey've forgotten all about mankindAnd you were the one they backed up toThe wallAll those years agoYou were the one who imagined it allAll those years ago.Deep in the darkest nightI send out a prayer to youNow in the world of lightWhere the spirit free of the liesAnd all else that we despised. They've forgotten all about godHes the only reason we existYet you were the one that they said wasSo weirdAll those years agoYou said it all though not many had earsAll those years agoYou had control of our smiles and our tearsAll those years agoA tribute to my greatest icon. Incidentally apart from the pretty face of Paul I actually relate most to baby George out of that quartet.
