city1uk
Emailed to me this morning from an ardent Charlton fan who attended last night's matchDid you go last night? I thought City deserved to win to be honest. Would much rather see you go up than Stoke/Watford, as City get the ball on the ground and play football. All the bestAnd after my response:We played football in the first half but looked out of sorts in thesecond. A common theme with Pardew, a man who is tactically inept! So inthe second we started to lump the ball forward and left the football toCity. This doesn't suit us, though, as we tend to get better results athome when we try to keep the ball on the ground, as that suits ourwingers and forwards. The goal was clearly coming, although we did have one or two chances inthe second as well as one just before half-time where we should havemade it 2-0. It's the teams who take the chances when they come who'llgo up, not the nearly men, which I fear we'll be.If we stay down we'll be bottom half next season, as the league will beeven stronger.Yes, you do look virtually assured of the play-offs. Hopefully you'llbeat Leicester & Watford. I'd like the former to go down and the latterto stay down. We'll need to improve to get into the play-offs, as wecan't play like that in the matches against our rivals. We still haveIpswich & Plymouth away, as well as QPR who'll want to beat us and WestBrom & Wolves at home. I think drawing last night ended any lingeringautomatic promotion hopes from our point of view.Good luck to you!
