Never to the dark side
what was the need for the baton squad to be at the winterstoke end before the game kick-off in full riot gearIts a football match not a war zone then allowing the plymuff fans out with the home fansdid anything kick-off by the KFC straight after the game?I shan't say anything about the refused entry of a 63 year pensioner
MarcusX
I didnt see anything kick off by KFC.Why shouldnt they wear riot gear? Its a "local derby". IF it kicks off they want to make sure they are protected, cant see the problem to be honest.
Mr Mosquito
what was the need for the baton squad to be at the winterstoke end before the game kick-off in full riot gearOur Police have always been anti-football supporter. Watching football is a legal pastime in this country unlike the illegal hunting of foxes and stags with vicious packs of dogs. Why aren't the Police at these illegal Toff led fox and stag hunts to stop them ???!!!
Dollymarie
There was something going on down that way after because the traffic wasnt moving for ages, and some of the riot lot were peering over by the bridge where the railway is like they were all watching something. Took me 40 mins to get home, and it normally takes half that.
Never to the dark side
I don't have a problem with them wearing riot gear when they are in the ground between the two sets of fans, but not before when we are all in quite a happy moodMost of the baton brigade who didn't enter the ground at kick off time removed there riot head gear at 3pmIts an aggresive stance to be stood there before the game just like it was at Wolves(sorry forgot west midlands terriority) Police attendance(approx 160) sixteen vans three estate cars(with the dogs) and the six from the house hold cavalary far fewer than we saw/heard/came into contact with at plymuffHaving said that we didn't have that FLAPPING helicopter overheadas the weather so poor

Admin phantom Posted March 16, 2008 Admin Report Share Posted March 16, 2008 Question is, after the length of time we were held back at Plymouth, it is curious that it was deemed ok to let both sets of fans out at the same time at AG8

Chivs
A few gobby Cornish types in Stone Island behind a line of A/S finest fancied there chances by the KFC, thats until City numbers grew.I walked by KFC about 10 minutes after the game and didn't see any trouble. However, further along Winterstoke Road there was a group of riot police guarding a bunch of daffodils which I thought was sweet. madmax
I collected my 15 year nephew from Temple Meads on Saturday at 11.20. He was on a train from Tiverton. When the train was in sight, around 15 Police in Riot gear stormed platform 3!They stood about 3 meters apart and as the train emptied of mainly Plymouth fans, they just walked casually in between them, scanned their tickets and walked out with nothing happening. Not really sure what it was about but I can only assume it was a statement of, "any trouble and we're here ready for you".MM
Never to the dark side
Well the baton brigade wouldn't have been a lot of good on the 17:44 Bristol to plymouth serviceTwo transport police outside temple meadsone on the ticket barriersand four transport police on platform eight waiting for the 17:44 to arrive didn't see any argyle fans waiting to board amonst the 120 passengers
BIGPHIL
Did see the Local Constabulary escorting 1 fan back into the ground, he was complaining about how tight his handcuffs were but his 2 escorts seemed uninterested in his complaints.
