Fortunately I didnt go to the game that day as I was in Kent for the weekend. Do remember Carl Hutchings scoring the goal for us though. simon uk
I was talking about this with my mates in work today, I think that was my most embarassing day to be a city fan, an absolute drubbing, rob edwards arguing with benny about matt hill being given his debut at centre back, and then that went on. 2 things I remember about it though, firstly, The Cat got man of the match for breaking up the fight in one team, in fairness he was better than the players that day. Secondly, in the next game they were giving out stickers and colouring in books to kids with the coldseal pigs on! What was Davidson thinking? Guest walshy-shuffle-carl-shutt
featured on ITV West on friday and this ain't a plug for the now defunct cold sheild window company Who could forget this it made the nationals and ep made a sing and dance bout like it was some big scandal. Was bloody funny though may have even been staged by three pigs deciding they was going to goad the wolf before hand. Classic

Got to be the worst opening week in managerial history surely? This coming straight after a 5-0 thrashing up at Bradford... good old Benny... Guest
I wonder if Wolfie will be there tommorow? Talking to DaveL last night, sadly not. The 'original' Wolfie was unsuprisingly sacked after that game anyway. I met the guy who currently does Wolfie when at the away game and he was a good laugh. At least that scrap takes away most of the memories of the score that day

Mr Popodopolous
Man, I remember that game well, it was my first match. And what a match! Fliers handed out promising a new 40,000 capacity ground at Hengrove Park and European football within 5 years f_laugh.gif disappointed.gif Which just goes to show what a load of crap is written on fliers. And the utterly inept "Benny Lennartsson", it was his 1st home game following a 5-0 loss at Bradford in his first game. Alas, 2-1 down by half time. But that tells almost none of the story. What a laugh at halftime, a fight between the mascots, classic times! Alas, City Cat was blamed by the club and was almost sacked as a result of the clubs ineptitude in working out who the culprits were mmmm.gif, but City fans saved the day by writing to the paper saying he was innocent and indeed was trying to STOP the trouble as opposed to cause it! The rest of the game went from bad to worse, we lost 6-1 and there was unsurprisingly lots of booing! Not a bad first game eh, and I've been hooked ever since! sodburyred
Why did the cat go? I always thought he got sacked after this game?? If so they could of just changed the bloke in the costume? No offence to scrumpy! But i just don't really like him! The cat looked cooler!
