Red Zeppelin
Fantastic. Johnson moreso, as he is really the difference between whether our team clicks together or not, and will be the difference between Championship or Premier League football next season. jimmy ateyo
Good news! Strange how you realise how good a player is when he aint there !! i wasnt a big johnson knocker, although i did think he was a bit of a automatic choice sometimes, and would never get subbed with elliott looking a bit better after his 2 week rest lets hope a strong midfield can provide some much needed ball for our strikers ?? Red Zeppelin
Just listened to the radio press conference and Johnson said, "If they are anywhere near not 100% right, then this isn't the stage of the season to take chances." But surely this is the best time to take chances GJ? In the middle of the season, you've got no need to rush or gamble anything because there are plenty of games left and you can take your time with injures and tactics. However, with every minute counting now, isn't it best to gamble a 80% Johnson who could win you the match with a set-piece or killer pass, than a '100% right' player like Skuse (with respect) for example? Its like the old song says you don't know what you missed until it gone. I have always liked Johnson for a small person he gets stuck in. As well as a very good passer of the ball some times it does not work but most of the time he finds his man, as well as the system we play at the moment midfield has to word harder than normal supporting the attack. I can't understand the stick he gets a lot of which is because he is the Managers son which seems funny as his dad can do no wrong in some quarters of the Club. It his thought that Manager picks him because he is his son which would go down like a lead balloon in the dressing room, now he has been out for a bit we can all see why he gets picked he is good at his job. GrahamC
We'll see. I for one wouldn't be that surprised to see Fontaine start at LB and a LJ free midfield on Saturday evening..........

MarcusX
Why didnt they keep this under their belt? Maybe even say that LJ was still a huge doubt and get Stoke prepared to not be facing him?
