Guest MaloneFM
He hated the name Dixie. Preferring Bill or at a push, William. There is an well worn anecdote about the night after the Anfield derby. Bill Dean was on his way home from the match and he met Elisha Scott. The Liverpool goalie. There was a rivalry between them greater than the game itself. Bill said good night and nodded, and Scott dived into the gutter to stop an imaginary header. Mind you the other version was when he dived through a shop window in town for the same reason.
KevinC
I often drive past his statue outside Goodison Park. It often has floral tributes from the funerals of Evertonians, seems a nice thing to do. What chance of a statue of a City "great" - Billy Wedlock? John Atyeo? Tony Dinning (Just a joke)?
