Caulker And Fontaine.

This is the player SL should be throwing a 2 million offer at. You don't have to know too much about football to see he will have a big future. Whether he would want to join is another matter.

Unfortunately for City thats the bottom line. Caulker, Spurs and his agent know that he's an upcoming star and if Spurs do let him go it'll be to another PL club.

For such a young lad he's a remarkable player.

He won't join us permanently. To be honest, why would he want to? He looks like a future England player to me, so I am sure his future will be in the Premier League. Delighted he's here with us for now though.

Both really reassuring to having in the centre. It's a strange feeling to have after recent years.

The team on the whole look as if they are believing in themselves at last, Fontaine looked very assured, Caulker won 98% of all aerial attacks into the box, it really is hard to believe he's only 18!

What a pity he has to go back to Spurs at some stage. rain.gif

Last night was the first time I've seen Caulker play, as I left for Uni a month ago... Looks a very decent footballer, as said above he seems to have a positive effect on those around him and the team as a whole. However, I really think it's ridiculous for us to even consider signing him permanently, let's just hope he can help us kick on for this season. Well done Milly (or whoever it was) in establishing this link with Spurs and long may it continue!!

He reminded me of Jack Rodwell who has the attributes for centre half too (and may end up there, imo.) mainly in terms of the self assurance/sense of presence for one so young.. defies belief these kinda players. Thought Danny Rose looked our other class above player, let's hope one day we'll have these types as a matter of course.

its all about opinions but I didnt think Rose was particularly "stand out", seeing as he is the first choice for the england u21s. Hard working and a good lad yes, but not the quality of delivery I would be expecting.

I would go as far as saying Caulker could be the next Ferdinand (Rio - not Anton). IMO something would have to go horribly wrong for him not to be a top PL Centre Back and England regular in future years. Well done Keith for getting him in.

Keith actually doesn't have a bad transfer record.. so far..

Stead (Quality signing)

Caulker (Quality signing)

Rose (Starting to live up to his potential as a quality player after Friday)

Pitman (Unproven IMO. Hasn't started the 7-8 games you need after making such a big step up - give him time. Remember it took Maynard quite a while.)

agreed 100%

especially about Pitman, Stead has played at this level and the prem for years now, Pitman will need time, and, like Maynard, aint gonna score hatfulls straight away.
