  1. As others have said for the reported fee it was always a low risk gamble wasn't it in reality. On paper he came here with a track record of such at this level already with Luton so can see why Nige and the recruitment team were willing to take a punt on him.
  2. Take that. Hopefully gets a bit more positivity back in the club and us as fans. Onwards and upwards.
  3. I agree, 100%. I know the Championship was a different landscape back in 07/08 but the principles remain the same IMO. We punched above our weight that year through grit and determination and players that wanted to give everything for the shirt under GJ. For me it just felt like Nige was building that sort of 07/08 siege mentality that we had under GJ and with a bit of financial help i personally feel we were heading for the playoffs at a minimum. Maybe not this season but certainly next. Hugely frustrating isn't it.
  4. I hear you. It's not that i don't like this group of players.. personally it's for me it's the most likeable group we have had in a while, they are battlers grafters and will do anything for the shirt, i can't fault them for that but they just aren't good enough if we want to push on. Im ranting on but for me under Pearson i was just starting to enjoy watching BCFC, aslong as we kept our championship status i was happy with seeing a team full of committed players albeit slightly limited in skill.. I have just had a gutsful of yet what is clearly going to have to be another rebuilding job under Manning when there was no need..
  5. sound lads just wanted to confirm it in black and white, we are being taken for absolutely mugs aren't we Lansdowns out..
  6. 100% agree. This public stating of Top 6 prowess is not only delusional but baffling that when we have been in positions of much better talent and actual clout in regards to a play-off push the Lansdown's have said nothing if note.. Maybe im rambling but i just don't understand the logic man. They have lost the plot IMO.
  7. Same, and we can all see it. As i said, it's scary the blatant lies that were put out by the club. It needs to be called out.
  8. wholeheartedly agree... It's scary that it was publicly peddled out to the fanbase IMO. The lies are astounding and scary really..
  9. Agreed mate. As i have said on previous posts, manning has come with a philosophy (not knocking it) however our current squad doesn't have the ability to do it at this level and get the results that are required. It's painful as another rebuild is clearly required to get footballers that can carry out Mannings philosophy (whilst getting results) to match the boards stated plans. It's painful and unrealistic and IMO Manning has been set up to fail.
  10. Would love this, but it won't happen.. Sleep walking our way back to League 1 it feels. A third tier league and cup double may get that masses on board again though.. rinse and repeat.. hard work this club man..
  11. 100% and this is the problem. The amount of people (away from otib in boozers around Bs3) that continuously say we should be grateful for Steve and the stadium and training is painful. After almost 2 decades of ownership and the funds he has available (whilst that him and his boy are a fan) is the bare minimum!
  12. I echo everything you said mate. Nige gave us stability, a battling lower mid table team, whilst not glamorous he was IMO doing the absolute most that anyone manager could do with this squad without significant funds. We all accepted that and i felt with Pearson we were in 'safe' hands in terms of the drop.. We now have a manger that is expecting far too much of a limited squad. They aren't good enough at this level for total possession based football (that yields results) i genuinely fear they will lose the siege mentality, not through effort or passion just because what they are being asked is beyond them.. worrying times man.
  13. holden mark 2? i'm starting to feel genuinely steve and that the Lansdown family do this on purpose.. someone of Steve's business astute cannot make these decisions time and time again without knowing the consequences.. the guy is a billionaire and he runs BCFC as if he were on the doll
  14. worrying mate isn't it, following this club is hard hard hard work even after a beer.. why do we do it to ourselves?
  15. I have had a few beers and i'm probably chatting waffle bit.. is anyone fearing a regulation battle or is it just me..?
  16. Only seen the result, i genuinely have a really bad feeling about this season. Nige had a limited team battling, it feels as if manning wants to play a way that this squad technically can't deliver..
  17. any chance of this getting to general sale do people think?
  18. Indeed. I genuinely feel for relegated Prem clubs that if you can't bounce back within the time frame of your parachute payments then it becomes an almost impossible task. At least Stokies have a decade of Premier league football to look back on, an Fa cup final and an appearance in Europe. Not bad for a club that is similar size to us in fairness.
  19. We are what we are. A workman like battling team that lacks quality, money needs to be spent but we knew all this under Pearson. Manning won't get anymore out of this team (in terms of the fantasy dream of top 6) than Pearson did without spending. Personally im just so glad that Nige did the job he did because for all our lack of quality we never give up and battle till the end. At least Manning has that base to build from as we would be up shit creek beyond belief had Pearson not done all the work he did and this current management team inherited the squad we had in 2021.
  20. This is all i've taken from it really, unprofessional to announce it and personally think the 'see you in the Premier league' comment at the end is not only fairly delusional given where the footbaling side of things is at the moment but ultimately just puts needless pressure on himself and others at the football club - especially if it doesn't happen under Tinnion and the current management teams watch. As you said unprofessional from Tinnion but i'd expect nothing less from him in all honesty.
  21. This is my gripe and something i would have loved somebody to have asked dumb and dumber (Tinnion and JL) at the Hen and Chicken. We don't have the players to play the way Manning wants to play, we don't have the quality in midfield to play effective possession based football at this level that will yeild results and enough points to get us into the top six. Nige was trying to mould us into a counterattacking team and that was how the squad was being built. Plainly obvious that Manning is going to need transfer windows to get in players more suited to playing his way IMO. Like i said i'd love to ask Tinnion and Lansdown directly how they genuinely think this squad are good enough to not only get into the top 6 but get there playing Pep Man City style possession based total football. It is ******* madness.
  22. The culture and application of the players was the best i have seen it in years under Pearson, and was seemingly steadily improving game on game. Feel for Manning as similar to Holden should never have been put in this situation but for me he isn't the man for this football club IMO.
  23. Ancelotti, only manager to win the Prem, LaLiga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1.. as you said undoubtedly the GOAT if we are talking greatest managers and players of all time IMO.
