Weston F.a Cup

Having never been to WSM FC I looked it up and it is on Winterstoke Road too.

This shouldnt pose any problem really as the floats for the carnival are housed in the coach park next to the train station. The carnival could actually benefit massively from this, as the game would finish around 9.40ish and many fans would make their way into town, with time to spare. Will be interesting to see what happens if the game is selected. Will be keeping a close on this one!

I think he meant that City and Weston are on Winterstoke Road ??

Might it be more convenient all round for the Weston Carnival to be held in Bristol just for this year seeing that the FA won't allow Weston to stage the game elsewhere? The Prem Lge are always wanting to play matches abroad so why are carnivals so static?

Why not have the Rio Carnival in S****horpe one year or the Mardi Gras in Hemel Hempstead?

To be perfectly blunt, WsM have brought this rather on themselves. They should have drawn Gillingham away.

Good ideas there. How about the Carnevale di Venezia on the Feeder?

That is a bit of a bummer, I wonder if TV money would be increased as a result of covering additional costs of policing due to the change of date? Assuming this happens of course...

Also it is crap that fans have to be segregated, City bring loads down for pre season friendlies and this game is hardly huge for donnie fans so don't see what the problem is.

WSM played Newport 3 days after the City pre season game in July.

They had segregation for this game.

How accurate is this?

Weston state their ground capacity is 3,500.

There are toilets when segragation is used they are in the block on the far side of the ground, they were installed years ago.

Segregation wont be a problem, assume you have been to the ground, it is nothing more than a double gate in opposite corners of the ground that probably hold enough space for about 10-15 max. (Segregation has been used before for games)

Donny wont bring that many down, and Weston is renowned for not attracting the casual fan

As for the temporary seating, guess it is a non starter as there isn't room to fit it anyway, but surely as they are already built they come with some kind of certification already? How does anyone else manage when they are set up for short notice?

Very accurate. Associate Director of the club, and that! ;)

Remember the Big Terrace has had seats installed in recent years which would decrease from the 3,500 . . .

Whilst the club has 'segregated' in the last, it wasn't a full segregation as will be required this time.

Other clubs manage to get the certification as they have licence to hold excess stadium capacity. Weston simply don't. There's fees and measures that are required for stadium capacity of less than 3,500, 5,000, then 10,000 and so on, so on.

For a capacity larger than 3,500, Weston would need a police control room and all sorts.

There is going to be 8 games on Sunday starting at 2pm as the BBC are going to do a live score program covering them. I'd imagine a good chance of WSM game being televised

Didn't happen in the end - taken from http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29832350

Warrington Town's FA Cup first-round tie against Exeter City is to be televised live on BBC Two.

Dan Walker will host Match of the Day Live from Warrington's Cantilever Park on Friday, 7 November from 19:30 GMT.

Non-league Warrington, who play in the eighth tier and are entirely semi-professional, have reached the first round for the first time ever.

League Two Exeter City have lost in the first round of the FA Cup in each of the last four seasons.

The tie will be the first to be broadcast live on BBC TV since 2008

As part of the BBC's weekend of first round coverage, Football Focus will come live from Weston-super-Mare AFC on the Saturday ahead of the Conference South side's home tie against League One Doncaster Rovers.

Mark Chapman will introduce live coverage of the second round draw on BBC Two at 19:00 GMT on Monday from the National Football Museum in Manchester.

Other programmes to look out for include Jason Mohammad presenting a new FA Cup edition of Final Score on BBC One between 13:55 and 16:20 GMT on Sunday, 9 November as eight first-round matches take place.

Manish Bhasin will then wrap up all the weekend's action later the same day on BBC Two with a full FA Cup highlights programme between 18:30 and 20:00 GMT.

BT Sport will also televise two first-round ties. The first from midday on Sunday, 9 November will be the Yorkshire derby between non-league FC Halifax and League One Bradford City.

The second on Monday, 10 November at 20:00 GMT, sees Havant & Waterlooville of Conference South take on two-time FA Cup winners Preston North End, also of League One.
