  1. So what happened to the 2.5-3000? Gutted for them really, after only 10 minutes they were already dreaming about drawing us next round for their big cup final. Obviously don’t know how the FA Cup works for Prem and Championship sides.

  2. Not heard of it being discussed there - far more important issues on the Agenda, like the pie tasting session!

  3. Nothing to see here. It's an entirely truthful and correct statement from the 15ers (for once). Notts County ARE in a fine vein of form at present and the televised first round game (between Hyde United and MK Dons) will no doubt entertain the audience.

  11. I think some people are getting carried away with the speculation about BRFC and their finances. After all, this is pure conjecture on most of our parts, with little to go on except the company accounts, Chairman's statements of running costs, physical evidence of no investment in the playing staff or the stadium (haha, stadium), rumours about why bills not paid, no plans for the colony yet, no plans for redevelopment yet, rumours about the owners Wael and family trying to sell, they could all of a sudden just announce massive investment. And some on here creaming themselves about them possibly going into administration if their losses continue. I believe we should take a step back and see how things develop before shouting too much. Fat lady and all that. **** it, let's just have a laugh at their predicament.

  13. Oh Gaschat - how I love thee.. "In the time the Al-Qadis have owned BRFC, Lansdown has rebuilt Ashton Gate, invested in quality players and as a result City are competing for promotion to the Premier League. Simultaneously, Wael has destroyed the last hope (UWE) of Rovers competing with them .. oh, and erected a small tent. But he stands with the faithful on the terraces now and again, so he must be a good bloke."

Just to answer my own question, rang the shop to see if me and the boy need to order in advance but told only 200 sold from initial 600 allocation. Hadn't realised it's pay on the day and I know it's a Friday night but surprised not more sold.

  18. Yes, I may be starting to crack up. But this bloke is strutting around the World having is picture taken and basking in the glory of telling people he is the owner of Bristol Rovers (see photo at Boston University) but in reality our club consists of a collection of old tents and a load of debt. Someone should follow him dressed up like Screaming Lord Sutch used to at elections and blow raspberries at him behind his back. I'll get my multicoloured coat and top hat

  19. The alternative would be for a sporting institution despised by many City fans who remember the underhand attempts to steal our ground in 82, and opposed the world cup bid, then shafted a true sporting institution (Bristol Rugby) to the extent that it has still not recovered, to be allowed to crash and burn. Rovers didn't give one f uck about the Mem being preserved when it thought they had a deal with Sainsbury's. I don't personally want competition in the city. Leeds and Newcastle seem to manage ok without it. City would gain nothing from helping you lot out Bert, and it does you no credit banging the drum on this subject on a forum that tolerates gasheads and actually welcomes you personally. I have many Gas friends but nothing would would please me more than for Rovers to disappear - and they feel exactly the same in reverse. Let it rest mate.

  26. This is where we have to thank old Nicholas for being so transparent because in the previous years accounts he published the rate being paid to MSP Capital which was 1.2% per month. So it's easy to work out what was paid to MSP up till the date their loan was cleared and the rest must have been charged to Dwane Sports because the only other loans were from Nicholas and his merry band who very generously waived all the interest they were due. The ownership of that interest definitely passed from Rovers to Dwane Sports because you can't put an expense item in your audited accounts and then say "oh we didn't actually mean that to be an expense and we never actually paid it" because the taxman will have you for fraud. But you are right In the Net it is possible Dwane Sports could have changed their policy in the 2017 financial year and not charged any interest. We won't find out till next March but what a lovely surprise that would be.

  31. Benn v McClellan possibly one of the best performances from a U.K. Fighter I've ever seen, McGuigan had a column in a national tabloid in which he gave Benn a very remote (punchers) chance of winning, all of which you couldn't disagree with, McClellan held all the aces, what followed was Benns bloody minded refusal to lose, it would have been replayed thousands of times if it wasn't for the. Tragic aftermath....

  34. Just imagine if this were actually true?! What an absolutely bunch of ruthless ***** that would make Wally & Co!! The destroyed Sags wouldn't be able to go all Tote End Aggro over it either because they would have all ****** off back to Jordan. Surely that would make the Al-Qadi family the greatest bunch of honorary Teds that ever lived?!!

  36. 37. Tinnnnnnnnnnnnnnpot! The second half was actually delayed by five minutes as the 1,500 in the stand and the 22 players on the pitch were all made to wait as the groundsman taped up a hole in one of the goal nets.
