  2. I think the problem is that the owner says h e is willing to sell...but he wants any new owner to pay all the debts, settle all the bills including all creditors, HMRC, back wages and "compensate' him for all the money he's put in during his ownership. IE he wants to walk away having not lost anything. If you buy a loss making L2 club. I don't think you can expect your ownership to cost you nothing - who does he think he is ....Wael Al Quadi ?

  3. The moron still trying to defend himself, light hearted comment, no malice intended, thinks it possibly may be offensive, then compares it to City the fans who made some stickers ffs!! Even goes onto say he’s suffered from depression himself, well if you even suffered the slightest bit yourself you wouldn’t even dream of making such vile, lowest of the low comments like you did. Absolute fvck1ng creature.

  4. I think you might be right there, RRH. That may be the last attempted merger of professional league clubs. I think it was as popular with both sets of fans as a lump of cold sick, too.

  9. Bolton is right next to Bury, but given the proximity the suggestion is probably as popular as the evergreen "Why not merge with Rovers and create Bristol United" one. Also, which league would they play in?

  11. On the other hand, as with all discounts, you could argue that it attracts people who would pay £10, but not £20, so they figure they’re getting something instead of nothing. It can work either way.

  12. Saw an interesting article on The Athletic- on FFP. Phil Hay the author- interesting to see Leeds view on some of the transactions of grounds etc that took place in the summer. I think the Leeds situation is thanks in large part to their owner not sticking in the equity but a good article nonetheless. Interesting that Leeds one of the most compliant clubs, want reform.

  13. I saw this on the BBC news just before going to bed last night and shed a tear at hearing his words on the plane, when he left a message to his dad saying he was scared. Will forever be such a terribly sad situation.

  14. Correct, just found it. 2002/03 Preliminary round A preliminary round was necessary to reduce the number of teams by one, because of the extra UEFA Cup place awarded to newly relegated Ipswich Town through the Fair Play league. Tie no Home team Score Away team Date 1 Bristol Rovers 0–2 Boston United 20 August 2002 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002–03_Football_League_Cup 2011/12 Preliminary round Times up to and including the fourth round are BST (UTC+1). Times from the quarter-finals onwards are GMT (UTC±0). Due to newly relegated (and League Cup title holders) Birmingham City having a bye to the third round following qualification to the Europa League and the extra Europa League berth awarded to Fulham through the Fair Play league, newly promoted AFC Wimbledon and Crawley Town played each other in a preliminary round. The draw for the round took place on 13 June with Crawley Town at home. This was the first need for a Preliminary Round since the 2002–03 season. 29 July 2011 Crawley Town (4) 3–2 AFC Wimbledon (4) Broadfield Stadium, Crawley 19:45 Akpan 38' Torres 53' Tubbs 64' Report L. 19. I knew Mark ‘Sooty’ Byrne at the time (who was Vice Squad’s manager, and occasional guitarist) as I played in a band with his brother. He used to mix for us occasionally and was very talented. I think Simon Edwards (later of K-Passa) had something to do with them too, maybe started a record label with them. Never much liked Sioux and the Banshees but that Old Market gig was unforgettable (not least for the amount of saliva in the air).

  22. Not me I'm afraid. A very dear friend died yesterday, one of I have been meeting up with at Rovers for 30 years or so, the way he was in the past week means it really was a happy release. I will admit to being extra pleased that we won and you lost yesterday, he was a big character and going to games will never quite be the same again. He was very loud, a bit of a pain and very funny. He hated the colour red & everything about City with a passion! I will be doing my bit to be a bit more insulting to you lot in his honour from now on

  24. You see this attempted trick all the time from idiots who realise they have said something discriminating. Agree completely that no one who has suffered from these issues would ever mock them EDIT: The fact they think this has something to do with football just sums them up. Get them some help I'm not sure they are in touch with reality.
