  1. Derby enters the EFL entrance exam. The EFL tell them the questions, but Derby still fails. The EFL give them hints as to the correct answers, but Derby still fails. The EFL give them the answers and Derby still fails. The EFL tell Derby to give them the paper and they will fill in the correct answers for them. Derby passes. Q.E.D.

  3. A lot better than Derby. Marriott scored 9 in 69 league games for them, 17 in 86 overall. Diedhiou scored 46 in 154 in the league for us, 51 in 169 overall. Marriott had a worse than 1 in 7 rate in the league, worse than 1 in 5 overall. Diedhiou had a rate of just under 1 in 3 boht in the league and overall. So we got far more value out of him, in both appearances and goals scored.

  4. SL has said that “it” (the Atyeo stand) won’t be increased in size due to the cost of buying the houses and lack of need. A 27k capacity is perfectly ok in the Championship and, if City reach the Premier League, it would only be a sell out when the bigger teams visit. The big money comes from the Premier League and TV

  5. We’ve been on the annoyingly wrong side of DL so many times, this a a real treat. well, we started this seasons T20 so badly I thought we might finish bottom, bowled out in 18 overs today and we’re top for the time being. Incredible stuff.

  12. One bit of GOOD news. Better late than never and it's about 2 years too late, in fact it's a loophole that should never have been opened, it's still unclear as to why it was- odd typo by Kieran Maguire. I do recall Stoke were mooted to be selling it or looking at it...the Land Registry still shows nothing. ? Wouldn't it be hilarious if they were planning to do it this season and found that it was now not permitted for P&S. ? I would also add, Training Facilities should also be on the list of Profits on Fixed Assets excluded for P&S- maybe all Fixed Assets should be- and furthermore, there should be a strictly stated method for Amortisation for P&S purposes. There was another loophole that pissed me off as well, but I cannot now recall- it needs closing and indeed should have been some time ago.

  18. In fairness I think the EFL have pushed hard here….but legally they can only do so much until they see restated accounts. That’s when the fun and games will start. Fat Lady hasn’t even been born yet!

  19. I reckon it suits the EFL. Does anybody really believe they wanted to relegate Derby? A bit of posturing to look tough then a big sigh of relief from Parry I suspect.

  20. Message to the harder of thinking and triumphalist among Derby fans. 1) You appear to be still under Embargo and rightly so. 2) I've read those Written Reasons. My supposition is the EFL will not accept any method of Amortisation that deviates from their method. If the dispute remains then so too should Embargo conditions 3) Your claims that Embargo should be a mitigating factor. I assumed it was just FFP and the wage hitch in January but it appears that the club had missed transfer instalments and had missed HMRC payments. 4) Quite rightly, your Club should be ineligible for the HMRC PAYE Loan. Clubs who breach Regulations seem to be ineligible. 5) Of further interest was the snippet whereby the Club claimed Reputational Damage and Harm to Investment Opportunities. 6) In terms of Points 3 and 5, these claims for mitigation were rightly dismissed, because Point 3 was within the Regulations, wholly separate to the matter at hand and in the case of both Points 3 and 5, the Club have brought everything on themselves through their actions so it's a red herring of sorts. An intriguing claim is that the Profit on Pride Park can be revised upwards. If this isn't the difference between the £74.4m and £81.1m...can't see EFL accepting it- if this is the case then I'd argue that the EFL should take up the Rental and Days Use issue. Pondering a trip to Pride Park next season with the mates, certainly a Ground I haven't done...

  21. I mean we knew the 50 over comp was literally going to be a 2nd XI team competition but yeah it’s shit, you’ll probably get 1 county who doesn’t have players drafted and will smash it

  22. I was looking forward to seeing us in the 50 over comp, now the ECB are denying us that. Using 8 of our players in a competition not even staged in the South West. What a f****** farce it all is. How can they take cricket out of one of the countries biggest cricket hot spots

  23. Or Wigan. Or Bury. Or Bolton. Or Macclesfield. Wednesday got bitchslapped with points lost a season too late, I wonder if they won't touch Derby after the fine after all.

  25. We need to see their adjusted accounts to see whether they did break FFP or not. They will at some point, either that or will have a decimated squad that will go down. Morris has screwed them up.

  27. Shambles they haven’t been relegated now but hopefully a huge points deduction is provided for the coming season, the transfer embargo continues and they go into the season with only 13 contracted senior players, no centre backs and a minus 20 point start so relegation beckons anyway

  28. Just got in and seen the news. Hopefully the Embargo will remain in play between now and August 18th. The revision of this 3 year period will also impact what went before and after, hopefully the EFL continue to keep maximum pressure irrespective of ownership. Statement and Written Reasons below. https://www.efl.com/news/2021/july/efl-statement-derby-county-sanction

  37. I don't see why not, it's all rails, trains and stations isn't it? As someone that has stood in queues outside underground stations following football games I can confidently say there isn't space there either and yet they manage. They manage because they can bring a train in every couple minutes and keep the crowd moving, our problem will be not being able to bring a train in evey couple minutes, we simply don't have enough trains.

  38. Lummydaze, it’s taken them decades to try and resolve use of the LA Park and Ride Car Park. We’re still waiting on that! The whole point of the mayoral scheme was to resolve such issues. Only in Bristol and North Somerset does such a goddam simple solution to a problem become an impossible fix. Trains will be obsolete by the time your Mayor(s) get around to thinking about a station at Ashton Gate. Just celebrate your £multi-million 300 metres of ‘guided bus service’ on that bridge across The Cut. What’s that all about? Utterly bizarre.

  39. Not sure how every London club does it with poxy little underground stations. The answer is queues and lots of trains (which is the actual problem).

  47. Spoke to someone at the Gate last week about the Atyeo 100% no plans to expand or redevelop for a number of reasons. There is not much demand for stadiums between 30-38k it’s either sub 30k or 40k plus. The club see no point in improving away fan facilities unless we’re establish premiership club and regularly selling out current. I’m teens if non sports concerts etc it’s it’s either up to 30k or over 40k in demand.

  49. This application is the only official plans there have been but even the original illustrative images had a linked bridge to the lansdown. The main intention being access to the suites in the upper lansdown as there won’t be much other facilities along the side of the arena. Although the arena will have a relatively small concourse, they could of course open up the lansdown concourse for concerts/live events
