  5. Tbh I welcomed the contributions of @DerbyFan and @AnotherDerbyFan Different perspective but good not to have an echo chamber- the latter did some very good work on financial/amortisation projections using 4 different methods from 2015/16 to 2023/24 IIRC!

  6. Just taking a different view….what if he looks like and sounds like shit in a video….what does that do to help? It’s a forum, we can of course speculate, but last week we moaned (me included) that RG’s 20Man comments weren’t helpful. Yesterday he gives an update, and now we want more.

  7. Just saw a Tweet from Exeter. Now remember when City said they couldn't have seating in the concourse, admittedly they were talking about tables too, but there was some talk of a health and safety risk. Now the Exeter Tweet ? Well ......... Would have been nice if City did something like this, it would allow some of the older fans to sit before going to their seat. It would also allow people to sit with a beer & food instead of having to struggle or have beer between their feet with others walking past.

  10. Love the dear threads….the bloke doesn’t even know this website exists, let alone the several folks who seemingly have nothing better to do in their lives than post 50 posts a day.

  14. To be fair, you can understand why they are angry: Did you forget all the circumstances regarding his sale? The context of it? The release fee? The fact it was deliberately left as late as possible in the window to prevent us signing a replacement - purely to get one over on us on behalf of his new employer? Yes, he’s a footballer earning a living. He was a footballer who could have comfortably got a deal probably at plenty of other clubs, and he chose to totally betray everyone who had helped him in his journey, from DC who plucked him out of forest green reserves to the fans who stuck with him despite not scoring for about 12 games. Then, after all that he openly mocks us and tries to wind our fans up, Yes, commercial decision. Defrauding pensioners is a commercial decision - those fraudsters have families to feed too. Hell, Judas had mouths to feed when he picked up those pieces of silver. It’s only football at the end of the day, it’s a game, but Taylor knew full well what he was doing, and chose the money. It wasn’t his one chance, he had years of decent contracts ahead but he chose the one thing which would completely screw all his team mates and supporters - all the little kids who got Taylor shirts and idolised him. He had a right to play for whoever he liked but we have a right to dislike him, and I fully intend to exercise that right. After all, we paid his wages for about 4 years

  16. Held Italy to a 0-0 draw tonight meaning the European Champions gave to enter the play-offs. Didn't concede a single goal at home in their WCQ group.

  17. But we do need someone - someone like Nigel Pearson, when he throttled some lad - shouting at the players from the touchline. Cos that's English football, see. Remember SO'D leaning against the end of the perspex dugout, looking like a lonely middle aged man waiting for a bus that was due 40 minutes ago, not breathing a word? Disaster. Players didn't know what to do. I'd see if Neil Warnock would take the role of touchline sarge-major on a "pay-as-you-harangue-and-abuse-the-4th-official" for 90 minutes a week while Nige sits upstairs with a hot water bottle and a blanket.

  22. Wycombe's case will have to be a dispute under the EFL Arbitration scheme. I can see Wycombe mounting a dispute against Derby claiming the £6 million as a 'Football Creditor'. That should foul up a quick and clean exit from the Administration for some considerable time.

  23. I totally get your sentiment and I share that. However, as much as fans and other clubs would also agree with sentiment. Ultimately, clubs would be looking after their own interests and not Wycombe Wanderers. In addition, it would open the biggest can of worms imaginable.

  24. I would describe it as quasi-legal as the courts are explicitly excluded. Consequently it should not take 2 years to conclude. The EFL needs to find ways to speed the process up. Justice delayed is justice denied and all that.

  25. In fairness, it is now really hard to accuse the football league of being too lenient with Derby...

  26. There's a balance to strike there. He needs to get on with the day to day and not let NP micromanage everything. On the other hand everything should be working towards a clear goal which is set by NP. They have to communicate. One thing I hope this stops is the moronic criticism of him watching from the stands.....

  27. I would hope in a 'normal' job that the management would be supportive rather than scrutinising. I know several people in 'normal' occupations who have/are suffering from long covid who are getting support from their employers. Without this support they could easily become depressed. Unfortunately this virus and its effects are a learning curve for all of us. Football is a cut & throat business, but I hope we give Nig a bit more time, and that the players step up.

  29. Never really been a fan before , but wow watching Rose Ayling-Ellis dance last night and when they turned off the sound brought a tear to my eye. Heard her talk about how she dances and she replied she counts the moves in her head - amazing ????? Fabulous that a prime time Saturday night tv programme is promoting deafness and sign language- hope she wins and raises awareness

  34. Re Wycombe, the fact that the EFL started this season with interchangeable fixtures highlights that they were hoping for a swift decision. Is either party at fault for it taking til November to conclude? Guess it was definitely in Detby’s interest to delay the decision to ensure they remained in Champ this season beyond the initial point where fixtures had to be played.. Do Wycombe still have a case? I don’t know the legal standpoint, but they’ve lost out big-time, in terms of revenue and players.

  35. Well done Rick Parry. Well done the EFL. Cleaning the EFL stables from arrival tbh, September 2019 in the case of Parry and transparency in terms of squad and budgetary allowances for this season, presumably this is remaiming headroom. Not yet read the Agreed Decision but based on the snippets @Davefevs it should make for interesting reading. So much for EFL on strings!! Bittersweet moment for Couhig especially.

  36. Glad they have been rogered senseless but just about the right punishment. However, the time taken means that Wycombe got f@cked over in the process of everything taking so long. With it being a legal process then I guess the time taken was inevitable and nothing can be done for Wycombe. Shame.

  37. Listened to 20Man last night, and fair criticism from the guests and Gary Owers on what’s happening on the pitch. But I felt Matt and Nigel (in particular) was critical of things like “Nige says he doesn’t coach” and “he falls out with players”, and then Owers chips in and says that some of his managers didn’t coach per se, they trusted their coaches….McMenemy and Allardyce quoted. Also said player arguments / falling out were common too. It’s not like Nige (bar illness) isn’t ever out there on the grass, but he’s more an observer, a fine-tuner. Also, just because we’ve heard Nige doesn’t like dealing with agents doesn’t mean he doesn’t / hasn’t, nor does it mean he’s not involved in recruitment. It is where “us” fans can only speculate, put two and two together, etc….we don’t know exactly what happens and why. Think some of the comments last night were a bit too much “guesswork”. Good show though, and don’t disagree with the comments about what’s happening on the pitch. Thats the bit us fans can have a real opinion on. And it’s fair to say improvement is required.

  40. I saw this quote from the Admins. Carl Jackson, a joint administrator for Derby, said: “This has been a difficult matter to navigate bearing in mind the various issues concerned. Whilst point deductions are never ideal for any club, it was critical to the club’s future that all matters were concluded between the EFL and the club in relation to historical issues. This conclusion allows us to proceed with our restructuring strategy for the club with prospective interested parties.” The bit in bold suggests to me that this has been settled in large part because potential buyers have been insisting on the issue being concluded. They want to buy with certainty, and don't want to take on the appeal and surrounding legislation. They also presumably don't want to pay for it either. Get it finished, pay the lawyers and accountants, stick an indemnity for future issues in the SPA, and get the deal done.

  41. I hope NP makes a full recovery like all City fans. But I hope while he is off that Curtis is given full control. And not simply be taking calls to implement NP's plans. How can that be effective when he is not at the club. He is off sick so forget football and concentrate on getting better. And leave Curtis to get on with the job and see what he is made of.

  45. It would certainly surprise me. He has never carried out this role at any club before & nor has he shown any interest in ever doing so. This is the “Joe Jordan as Director of Football” conversation all over again. He’ll either return to his current role at some point or otherwise he’ll leave, I don’t see any other options.
