I actually think this is very near the mark.
I'm on record as saying we would never employ Pearson as Manager, and I was slightly shocked when we did.
I think it was exactly as you say, they saw him as a necessary evil to get us out of a (self inflicted) hole. Then the first opportunity it's off you **** !I do agree it seems unusually planned and thought out, but it does make sense.
its the way i saw it too, his op was looming and results werent great so kerching, easy excuses to bin him out, however, they cant mention not being there due to health as a reason so lets baffle fans with bullshit. unfortunately they arent to bright and never will be enough to pull the wool over the fans eyes

given they are all related one way or another, its hardly surprising they resemble each other

Had Nigel stayed and achieved his 64 points...we'd be 10th (I don't think +1 points reels in Cov's +11 GD).
Then he could have left gracefully at the end of his contract, with everyone hugging and happy, and a managed handover to someone new (possibly Manning, possibly someone else). Fanbase kept onside, players part of the process, smooth, planned, efficient. Maybe that's a naïve utopian idea of mine, but it's what I hoped would happen when I looked forward to 23/24 this time last year.
city wont do things like that, they dont like the 'right' way

The next campaign will be bolstered by whichever players Manning brings in and he’ll have the entire preseason to assimilate them into his methods and I’m optimistic that City will start the season in full flow.in tippy tappy triangles across the back until its forced back to max who then hoofs it to the opposition??
thats all i see coming next season when Liams got his own players.
will be very pleased if im wrong but a leopard dont change his spots over a close season

Me neither but some fans seem prepared to ignore off the field matters or at least had no idea of the disastrous position we were in.
Mind you the hierarchy have never admitted their culpability and certainly never credited RG and NP with digging them out of a hole. So maybe it's not surprising that some fans don't get it.
i think some people only see their 2 hours at the gate as anything to do with them or all that bothers them so dont pay any attention to anything else thats going on.

I suspect he has options that are more attractive tbh at present.
after seeing how his ex manager was treated,i doubt very much if he had any intentions of staying.

Indeed mate, I would say it’s propaganda but I’m not even sure he or they are smart enough for that.
no mate, propaganda at bcfc now means go back, have another look and pay more attention next time

his main objective this season was to get NP out the door and clear the pathway for his new role so it was massively successful for him.
all i hope now is for the biggest shower of shit that ever existed land right on top of his hollow head.
no experience,no leadership skills,no intelligence. boy are we in safe hands now

I thought we’d reverted back to Nige’s game in the last few months and given up on the passing game that LM tried to implement?
he had no choice,it was that or get sacked, in normal circumstances.
but then we know, our board dont do normal.
next season he will revert back to that shite, its what he believes in

NP had this to say.
I think that the most straightforward and appropriate words I can write now are - Andy King, I can categorically say, you are a manager's dream.
In his younger days, he was a player with drive, ability and goals. In his pomp, a player with drive, ability, goals and influence. In his renaissance years, a player with ability, knowledge, influence, empathy, coaching ability, not so many goals, but a personality that is worth everything to a football club. Anyone who knows anything about the game, knows exactly what a character like @AndyKingy delivers, on and off the field.
Your career, my friend, has been one I admire. Why? Because you are one of the very few who has maximised the gifts you have. Good luck for tomorrow, enjoy your time with your lovely family, and best wishes for your future whatever you decide to do next. Cheers, Nige.
Nige talks about everyone who serves him well like that. he genuinely appreciates good people, people who try and people willing to help others .
i was so lucky having had the pleasure of working for him and being treated like that. , everyone is an equal, if they are a good person,no matter who they are or what they do.
Andy King, thankyou for everything you did here, model pro. i only know one word, araf doesnt seem quite fitting. stay chilled and enjoy your time with your family and good luck for the future.

As well as not making the change of October, a sensible hierarchy in addition to Williams would be looking to retain James as a player and King as a coach as part of the foundation this summer.
Could still happen but I doubt it. I hope it does.
you and i both know what would make sense Pops but those upstairs seem to like doing things the hard way

Yeah, that “Fans playing football manager” comment really stuck in my craw too.
Most of us recognise, and are realistic about, the financial constraints the club operate under, but we do have some resources and continually poor-mouthing the manager when he asks for transfer funds yet expecting us to challenge with a young side that is obviously lacking in key areas is unreasonable on JL’s part.
Perhaps we DO tend to default to critical whenever he opens his mouth, but it’s hard not to be when not only do you have cause to doubt a lot of the decisions he’s made but that he comes across as a supercilious prat into the bargain.
i had to look supercilious up in the dictionary, flip me,you couldnt have described him better

With the 'players told Manning to change' rumour, I think more context is needed before we can make a judgement.
For example, there's a big difference between a group of fed up players demanding change and an open conversation in which change is discussed.
Unless someone has heard it from a reliable person that was privy to the conversation there's a large amount of doubt there.
it probabably was a group discussion as you say, with manning admitting he had nothing to lose trying something different

Been told by someone in recruitment we won't be doing much business this summer. He's got no reason to lie ,so yeh don't get to excited another borefest season beckons.

Who from the club recruitment told you this?
I would take anything that starts with 'Been told by someone in recruitment' or 'my mate knows someone that knows' etc, etc, with a huge pinch of salt Coombsy.
i dont think you will actually hear much if anything on here from real people in the know. the trust and relationship between those people is not worth breaking for a bit of i know, i know, i know. rumours that are in the public domain somewhere are different, nobody can get hung out to dry if disclosed
