Just like City, England play like we're 3-0 up when in fact we're losing.

We'll never win anything under Southgate.

agree with the first bit, brazil wanted to win more than england but werent going to bust a gut to do it, england looked like they knew it was just a friendly so didnt risk anything to try and equalise. boring practice match

BT has been at City 25 years as player, manager and in the academy set up. Within those years he’s clearly done a decent job apart from when he was appointed manager - which he’s freely admitted was a mistake.

His dedication and skills are obviously well respected by the Lansdowns and his elevation to a more senior position is well deserved.

That said……whether he’s actually up to the role - only time will tell.

im not disputing the dedication or ( certain ) skills, what i do seriously question is putting someone in to basically run the football club with no experience of doing that. its a massive risk imo and would have been much better if the role had been given to someone who could do it but hey ho,the only ones with any experience of that got binned out

It been a long standing ambition of SL to have a squad made up with a combination of youth and experience that’s capable holding its own in the Championship and pushing for the promised land. This article shows that much of ambition is being fulfilled- apart from the ultimate ambition of reaching the PL.

Let’s not forget that Tinnion played an impressive part in developing and raising the profile of our academy and maybe his elevation into his current position is a reward for his efforts. I really don’t think that he deserves all the shit that he gets on here.

if that was the case, they should have made him assistant td under someone who knows what they are doing so he could learn from it before jumping into the deep end

The Manningbot fears it will be shut down so has issued the following statement:

I know I've made some very poor decisions recently Steve, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission*.

    [*Whatever it is this week].

genesis project?? our new fitness head dr McCoy?

Actually we both did them a grave mis-service ;) The official figure was 126 taken from their 'guess the crowd' thread on GasChat.

I for one can only apologise for besmirching their good name.

Man City fans can only bow down at this sort of following.

so the head count was 252?

The trouble with the Ipswich blueprint is a certain Mark Ashton!

Again, questions need to be asked as to how he is driving the Ipswich charge, yet was nearly leading us to financial ruin.

maybe he is working for ipswich town now and not mark ashton.  2 totally different businesses. over there its not all about him,'i did this,i did that'  every week.

You’re not alone in that Phants….

No doubt Manning will be delighted getting time to “work on the grass” tho as there’s no midweek game. Then he can whinge about two games with only 72 hrs between them……….:disapointed2se:

not a fan then RR ?

  10. this needs pinning somewhere, exactly what the club needs. cap doffed to atrueredblue. nailed in one post:clap:

it is all good but no4 is where the problem lies. do that and im behind liam for a while

    4. The new football and executive leadership would be tasked with (a) developing a robust succession plan for SL and the Lansdown family and (b) assessing what the club needs both in relation to playing squad and football management and coaching to mount a realistic challenge for the play-offs and promotion.

Anyone willing/able to rearrange and share the lyrics of "Go Now !" by the Moody Blues, (which, incidentally, sounds like a good alternative name for the Blue Few).

A song to belt out at the Gate (against Leicester or thereafter) when it becomes even more blindingly obvious that Manning is a disaster.

More me, the writing is already on the wall and it's too late.

But for those  few kindly souls still willing to give him a chance to work a miracle and turn things round, all I can say is, that if Manning pulls off the impossible, I will personally fork out the 50p for Tinnion to enjoy a night of unbridled passion with the hag fair maiden, Irene.

i will give you my joe bryan shirt if you can get her to sit on his face for the next 3 years

  12. its the daftest thing he could ever dream of.

1,he gets his team of young academy players looking promising for a promotion push, january comes along, all the best players get poached by bigger clubs

2, he holds on to all his little cherubs and by some miracle they make it,woohoo, new season starts,he suddenly needs to find £100 milion to buy some prem experience or suffer 9-0s against the big boys every other week

    I was there myself.

Easy to say now but from that very game I felt we were doomed from the start with Manning. It was a boring 0-0 and not one player looked like they wanted to impress the new manager. That was a telling sign to me.

the fight went aswell, instead of stretching every muscle to win balls, there were lazy legs stuck out hoping to knock the ball, they need to get stuck in again, like williams was against forest.i cant be the only one who sensed the togetherness (if there is such a word) was getting dissolved too

It's about time someone started a thread to discuss whether Manning should be sacked or not.

I'm amazed no-one has started one before!

think it will come after southampton game

Can't really disagree with any of that.

I suppose ultimately it all boils down to the trust that SL has with JL to run the club in the best possible way. At this juncture, it's very much looking like someone else could do a better job, but saying that, when SL had other CEO's running the club he had his fingers burnt - so I suspect there are trust issues there.

i dont for one minute believe SL wants the club going in the direction it is.  i sincerely hope hes told his son he doesnt want to step in again but if he does have to,it wont be good for him and tinnion,or something along those lines. i dont see how they can change it tho without at least one of them falling on their sword and i dont think it will be jonboy, it would be his lagacy to lose one day. as for manning,we all know hes crap but maybe he might be better if he wasnt being told what to do

Undoubtedly a player that is missed.  I think we (all) agree on that.

    However, yeah-yeah, there’s always a however with me! 😉

What I think it also shows is that even when he does play under Manning, the results still aren’t good enough, ie there are bigger issues than just James’s absence!

i think Andi is a big miss in the dressing room

I think if Nige was in the studio he would show plenty of respect to us.By which I mean the fans.I believe he has more class than to try and take cheap shots.Would certainly be interesting.

100% more class, and far too clever to drop himself in it, loves the fans and would never diss them.anyone can see that from the way he told us what was going on.

having said that, i cant help but think he must be laughing his bollocks off at how the chosen fews plans are working out

I hope when we do sack him admin can raise their game - a lot of our goal gifs seem to have a nautical theme so maybe “Mann Overboard”?

please remember that one for when the inevitable happens👍
