  1. As someone who was (mistakenly) mildly optimistic about Manning when appointed You've missed two points: 1. In October nobody was 'invested in Nige out' (Okay maybe the board, but certainly not swathes of fans). Nige was doing okay with what he had. That's why people were confused. 2. Fans were miss-sold what manning would bring to the club and his style of play. Its rightly taken a while to form an opinion on manning. Just because you sit at the extreme end of the debate doesn't mean everyone is so inclined.
  2. Completely agree. Always asks well thought out questions in interviews and seems very knowledgeable. Compared to some other local journalists we've had, he's great.
  3. These have passed me by. And I do worry about how the lack of CEO will affect the club long term (not that it appears PA set the bar particularly high). Where it appears Tins really dropped the ball was being completely absent between the departures of PA and Nige. Nige was the only one speaking to the press regularly. Now he is atleast on the comms but its a case of too little too late. Not helped by Manning's less than brilliant performance.
  4. Good points but I'd suggest Tinnion had a lot more to gain from PA leaving than Pearson, but no-one gets in a hump about that. I'm certain Tinnion is not 100% blameless in Nigels departure (he could of, and probably didn't fight Nigel's corner) but any suggestions that this doesn't land mostly at the Landsdown's feet are wildly underestimating their insecurity issues. And so any speculation that he's a snake I find a little undeserving.
  5. My point is everyone at the HPC had the potential to 'concoct' those reasons. Do you honestly think Tinnion is the only point of contact there? It doesn't take Poirot to figure out that Nige was missing from the day to day. (Infact I'd be amazed if Pearson didn't inform JL himself) Also what realistic motives does Tinnion have to see Nige go? He is and never will be seen as a viable manager. He was Technical director before Pearson was sacked, no? He may not be the brightest, he's certainly no public speaker, he has to take responsibility for this naive January transfer window, but I see no evidence to suggest he's a snake, and don't see how anyone who isn't truly ITK can.
  6. You realise that the HPC employs more that just Tinnion right? If JL or SL wanted to keep tabs on Pearson not everything has to go through him. But this is the point. He wasn't sacked for not turning up. (Or any of the bullshit cooked up by JL) He was sacked because he didnt toe the landsdown line and pretty much critisised them in public. I'm not saying tinnion is blameless but anyone that thinks he is anywhere as near a culpable as JL or SL (or even Pearson himself to that matter) needs to wake up.
  7. I just had a terrifying mental image of Tinnion breastfeeding Alex Scott.
  8. How did Tinnion knife Pearson in the back exactly?
  9. Critiquing him on his role is fair. But the majority of the flack that comes his way isn't based on his performance as technical director but the assumed role (on no evidence) he played in the dismissal of Pearson.
  10. Not able to watch or listen today. Hows it shaping up compared to the last couple of sh*t shows? Players getting the basics right so far?
  11. Weirdly I'm more confident about King than TGH or Williams today. He hasn't put a foot wrong when he's played this season.
  12. Have we seen him there yet? I'd imagine Knight and sykes more likely on the wing with Wells on his own?
  13. With the ownerships' track record of honest and open comms?! Probably not.
  14. He's not wrong. I doubt that ultimatum was put to Manning on his interview.
  15. As has been said elsewhere. No point in sacking now. I'd give him the summer on the grass and give him up until Oct/Nov to show a significant improvement in performances and results. But if things don't improve before the end of the season Tinnion and Jr are going to be under a whole lot of pressure.
  16. Bit gutted Cornick isn't starting (never thought I'd say that)
  17. While i think we should have enough for the win. I don't really think 'no excuses' ever really holds water, when you're playing 11 other players who have other ideas, and you factor fortune/misfortune too. QPR are fighting for their lives so it's going to be a tough 90 mins.
  18. "To be fair" that's his philosophy, and in the early days he's always likely to use that as a crutch. (Which after Nige felt borderline robotic let alone unemotional) He now knows the team, the club and the press, so its no surprise he's a little bit more engaging in pressers. Perhaps we just needed to be a little more patient?
  19. You see his calves? The lad's stacked. Conversely Mebude's are like pencils.
  20. I wasnt overly enthusiastic with the line-up of James and Williams but tonight proved they can play together without sacrificing impetus. Both of them immense.
  21. Yep, can't remember the last time pring made a cross like Roberts can deliver
  22. They're so different. Think Roberts actually has a more rounded game to him and a potentially higher ceiling. Classy.
  23. Sorry for the conspiracy theory and I'm no sports therapist but could spending 80%+ time on 'the grass' where the grass is ill suited, have a cumulative impact on our players, making them more prone to strains, pulls and generally less robust?
  24. Pretty much agree with most of this. And the table doesn't lie, Pearson had us in a better position than Manning does now. But how many counter-attacking, high press teams with tragic injury records get promoted or even challenge? And do you really think we would have not dropped off had Pearson remained? They took a punt and it hasn't paid off.... But the rationale is and was solid. Jon and Tins have been made to look fools by their words rather than their actions. Finally this whole argument is becoming increasingly reductive. We have no idea what happened behind closed doors other than two things: Pearson was (understandably so) becoming increasing inflammatory about his contract situation, and his health was affecting his ability to fulfil his responsibilities (I'll be the first to retract this when he takes on his next managerial role and smashes it). Both of these factors would have an impact on anyone's job security, let alone someone in such a high profile role.
