  1. Yeah, I can really see Brian Clough or Alex Ferguson or Bob Paisley saying that. Good old fashoned plain speaking English isnt good enough these days, you have to appear clever.
  2. It was Jon Lansdown that said the current players were currently capable of being a top 6 side, just needed a better head coach. in Jon Lansdown we trust.
  3. Impressive piece of research that mate.
  4. I’m not. Encouraged. Sorry Harry mate. The asylum is being run by the lunatic, and it’s tragic.
  5. Not so sure it needed spelling out
  6. Agree with those 3 and would add the famous 1-0 victory at Elland Road in 1974, the 1-0 promotion night home to Portsmouth 1976, and 6-1 at Bradford in 2014 to gain promotion under Cotts.
  7. Stumbled across your old post skimming through this thread. I should declare an interest, but anyway, although the Queens in Chew Magna no longer has chitterling on the bar (sometimes roast potatoes though), we have amazing chefs producing amazing food (and drinks, we are a great pub serving great food, real ales, lagers, ciders, wines and cocktails, not a gastropub). https://www.thequeenschewmagna.co.uk/ No need to take my word for it, the reviews: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g1869005-d23659747-Reviews-The_Queen_s_Chew_Magna-Chew_Magna_Somerset_England.html https://dishcult.com/restaurant/theponytrap?sortOrder=0&page=1&bookingDate=2023-11-14&covers=2&promotionId=0&bookingTime=19%3A30
  8. Currently on 80 different teams out of the current 92, plus about 16 now in National league and downwards. Some of the 80 seen at old and new stadiums (3 Rovers) plus a load of small clubs in friendlies. But nowhere near 176, fair play @Miah Dennehy
  9. Think you meant to refer to a different Nick. But with my attention drawn to this thread, the differences I'm expecting are: No cliches, David Brentisms, measuring grass, or throwing players under the bus from LM, I'd imagine.
  10. Based on JL”s justification for sacking Nige, that’s a very fair analysis. Pressure on crayon boy then.
  11. Great reply to a moronic rant.
  12. Suck up it was then. No disrespect to Joe, dont know him but where were the challenging follow up questions, there weren't any. JOE: Question JON: Answer JOE: Oh right. Next question. A few points: JL moaned about the effect of covid, like we were the only team affected JL said they had no one else lined up due to their morals - except that isnt true as theyve done it before Could go on but the interview just reinforces my opinion of the so called leadership.
  13. Fair play to him if that’s the case mate the test will be if he gives the idiotic crayon boy a hard time or just sucks up
  14. It’s an expression the cliche king, nepo boy, uses a lot as well.
  15. "Loads of strategy", that literally means there has been more than one strategy. Therein lies some, but not all, of the problem. Whatever did become of the Five Pillars.
  16. You choose to ignore that he acknowledges in his opening sentence that some aspects of the original post have aged better than others. Everything he thinks is encapsulated in his most recent post, not the 3 year old one. As follows, I couldn't agree more and I think the majority on this forum would too: Just reposting what I felt 3 years ago in August 2020, it got a lot of abuse. Some of it has aged ok, other aspects not. I did stop following the club, and only at the end of last season and this, started engaging again due to Nigel Pearson. Recent events only reinforce the key points of what I felt back then. A few more might now agree. The substance is the same, the club use incompetent people to achieve a dream that requires extensive professional ability. There has not been any strategy or direction, and in the last months, Luton Town have now become the latest fad of the day. I mentioned a detachement between the fam base and club, again some said I was wrong, what I now read suggests I was closer to the truth. The biggest change that happened in the last 3 years, is that the club finally did emply someone who understood the needs required to become a Prem side. They also had a CEO who had similar experiences. In the space of 3 months, both were dispensed with as the the owner and his son are unable to accept professional criticism, and have reverted to type, by surrounding themselves with nepotism and cronyism. My base view 3 years aho was that Mr Lansdown did not know what he is doing. That remains, probably reinforced. My next post in 3 years, I hope less, I anticipate will be with new owners at the helm . BCFC is going nowhere with Mr Lansdown. Goodbye again and enjoy the season.
  17. It was always going to be a hiding to nothing interview because Crayon Boy is out of his depth and completely unqualified to be managing people and Chairman of a Championship football club.
  18. Could you post that on here or send me a DM plesae?
  19. He's boasting about a £50m development but when Lansdown first got involved there were plans passed by Bristol City Council for a 12,000 wrap around the Williams and East End. It was scrapped. Why? My numbers are a bit hazy after these years but lets say it was someting like £10m budgeted cost AND half of that would have been paid for by the FOOTBALL TRUST, who at that time were tasked with encouraging clubs to upgrade facilities. I never understood why that didn't go ahead, can anyone with a better memory than me add to that? I was very vocal on here many years ago regarding Aston Vale etc and the motives behind transferring the stadium. I was proved right in many respects. For example, SL claimed AG wasnt financially viable, but after AV didn't go ahead, guess what, he developed AG - leaving him with personal ownership of AV which had been purchased off the back of BCFC. You lose the energy to keep on about it after a while. But with what's going on now with Crayon Boy I'm considering cranking it up again. EDITED for CrayonBoyEsque spelling mistakes.
  20. The funny thing is it’s been edited to leave what they think are Crayon Boys best bits. Think about what the unedited version is like.
  21. Didn't know about this, and it really it is class, and class from @Chris Bluebirds to acknowledge. After the past couple of days, restores your faith in football fans. And so called football fans. Crayonboy.
