  1. When will all of the blood be squeezed out of the Stone? Money money money
  2. I just think that it is never good when a player gets thrown under the bus. Consider Pring, why did he have to be on the naughty step for months when DaSilva has hardly beat his man all season. I wonder if King will on the naughty step now? No because he is one of the favourites and is allowed to make mistakes that are not tolerated in others. To me it feels like a toxic environment with a scapegoat mentality. Bottom line is, we are worse off than this time last year. Our problems are largely the same as last year and that has to go down to management.
  3. One constant thread. Its never his fault
  4. I believe it has its origins in engineering. If a machine was built in a basic, functional and no frills way it was described as agricultural because at that time most framing machinery was like that. Since then, it has morphed into sport etc describing anything which is not elegant
  5. Anton for sure. He may or may not develop into a great player but for £5 million we could improve the team a lot. He is just too inconsistent and just doesn't seem to learn.
  6. Just copy Rugby, their system has worked great for years. When the player looks up and sees the clock stopped the reason to waste time just goes
  7. Is it never even a little bit his fault or is he perfect. Worst man management style I have seen in ages. All of this sort of talk should stay in the dressing room.
  8. Seems to me that in some peoples opinion the worse thing you can do in life is to be successful. Yes he has heaps of money but as a young man he took loads of risks and worked hours that many would never even know existed. What he now choses to do with his money is his choice. Would you prefer owners like Birmingham or Hull have? It seems to me that some former players who had it all but chose to be more committed to Thatchers than football are somehow more respected. Do I detect a hint of reverse snobery, or not one of the people c**p
  9. Worse cash cow I have ever heard of. More like a money pit
  10. I think Antoine plays on instinct and is not the most football intelligent player. This makes him very hard to coach to a system. When Conway or Wiemann close down you can see they are checking the angles and calling others into the gaps
  11. Do you really think anyone would want Martin or Klose even if we paid half of their wages
  12. For me Antoine typifies us at the moment. In the rare game he is unplayable other than that he can't shoot on target, cannot retain the ball with his back to goal and gives away a free kick just about each time he tries to close down. I think at this stage of his career he desperately needs a mentor to bring out his best and we don't have one. At todays prices if we got an offer of £3 million I would accept immediately
  13. I have to say the situation that Joey Barton took over in Gasland was far worse than NP had. I am absolutely no gas fan but he seems to be getting a tune out of a pretty poor bunch including youngsters.
  14. There must be something wrong to see such a swing in performances from 1 week to the next. The latest strange Nig line ups like at Boro feels a bit like LJ towards the end. Shuffling the pack without any clear logic and hoping for the best. I hate it when NP talks about "they" so much like he and they are not in the same boat. I guess worst case for him is, we drop into bottom 3, he gets sacked with a nice top up to his pension fund. Clearly we have no money to improve the team so we have to coach them individually and as a team to grind out results. It seems to me that the kids tutored by Tins have far more idea of what they are doing then the older heads coached by NP and his team. I wonder what he seeks to achieve by week after week saying "just not good enough" aimed at the players. Surely his selection at Boro was not good enough because if they had any luck they would have hammered us. The team last night was not good enough and it appeared that they had been given no plan to work to. Fine when a player has an off day BUT when the whole team looks like a bunch of strangers it has to go down to the coaching staff. Some lessons learned I think. a) Forget Martin he is slow beyond believe and we play Warnock ball when he is on the field. b) Understand that our squad is thin and if we want to win any match we have to play our best team. If we wanted out of this cup why not play the entire 21's because at least they would play as a team. and would not risk players needed to avoid relegation. c) Accept that we are in a relegation battle. Pick your best 11 and play them whenever they are fit Finally NP accept that if the team plays poorly you are as much to blame as they are. You plan the tactics, you pick the team, you decide what is done in training and you are responsible for motivation and player coaching. Stop looking smug at each interview and get up for the fight as a part of the team not as an outside observer.
  15. I think Massengo and Gow should never appear in the same sentence. Gow was a team player, Gow stopped made and scored goals. Gow intimidated the opposition. Massengo is not even in the same hemisphere.
  16. We love him because he looks cool and we have a song for him end of
  17. I think when kids see a team where youth players get a chance they are more likely to sell. Tinnion is creating players with his values. Long may it continue.
  18. I think you have not been to Albania. If you had, you would not make your comment. Massive corruption, virtually no welfare or health system, woman treated worse than dogs. I think people are not happy because they have unrealistic expectations of life. They feel down so they spend, this leads to debt so they feel more down and turn to other things. I think as a society we need to be realistic about our lives. If there is a problem and you can fix it do so. If not accept and learn to take pleasure from the simple things around you.
  19. What would be common sense for this matter out of interest?
  20. Would like to see him in place of Dasilva
  21. When will be bring back he's one of our own for some of our kids from the under 21's always gets some volume
  22. Surely that's why they have a family section. If you don't sit there it's probably because of a lack of atmosphere. to have atmosphere you need noise and yes sometimes there is a bit of swaering. I guess nothing worse than the avearge kid hears in the playground each day.
  23. I think if NP knew how good the other forwards would be this year, he would not have got another year. Hindsight is a wonderful think. On the positive side, for his wage we should be able to attract a decent out of contract player next year.
  24. Why are we surprised by the standard of refereeing? Go to any junior game and the ref gets abuse from the parents all game. Move up to youth and players feel free to treat the referee in a way that if it occurred in the work place they would be fired on the spot. Move to adult football and the ref gets verbal abuse and often the threat of physical abuse. Why would anybody take up refereeing? Far less do nowadays and so we have a smaller pool. No surprise that the quality is low. I think we need a major change from the top to the bottom. Only captains can talk to the ref. Any abuse from players is not tolerated, any abuse from the parents of spectators at amateur level and the game is abandoned and if the abuse is repeated the club is suspended for a year. Nobody in any walk of life should have to put up with the treatment referees get. They are human. They turn out at the weekend to get some exercise and enjoy being part of the game they love and get paid almost nothing. If we want better referees we need more, to get more we have to treat them in a better way. End of rant.
