what would you pay for a direct train to west Ham
East Londoner replied to Never to the dark side's topic in Football Chat
Closest DLR station to the London Stadium which is more useful after the game due to restrictions put in place in the Olympic park and at Westfield is Pudding Mill Lane and only a 5 minute walk from the away end -
Wikipedia says he’s already made 56 championship appearances for us, not bad for a £300,000 signing from Carlisle As for coaching you’re right he has the basics and it’s probably easier to coach him to do the extra than it would be to coach a wide player to be a solid defender Longer term i could see him being a right centre back probably as part of a 3
-
I thought the Sunderland players reaction got him booked in fairness

Given there’s engineering work on the Sunday and everything is going via the Berks and Hants it’s very unlikely -
One that only operates from Chippenham to Bristol but as you’ll be going from Weston you won’t be on it you’ll be going the scenic route
-
For Chippenham there’s a shuttle train service to Bath and Bristol, for Swindon it’s a bus to Reading
-
There’s engineering work between Swindon and Reading so will go through Trowbridge and Newbury instead hence not stopping at Chippenham and Swindon Its quite a nice divert actually but slightly longer as takes two hours from Bristol
-
Trains will be diverted via Newbury adding some time to journeys but not an enormous amount
-
By all accounts it’s a decent athletics stadium, problem is politically it’s a bad look removing the athletics so we’re left with a compromise that pleases nobody Saying that, once they started winning a lot of the West Ham fans complaints quieted down a lot
-
Being a local I’ve done some West Ham games and it’s a fairly accurate illustration of the away end. For some reason the gap between upper and lower tiers is more pronounced at the away end
-
I had that issue in reverse a few seasons back for the Brighton game at the end of the season and having a London address, city ended up contacting Brighton before allowing me to buy a ticket Funnily enough for this game I’m on both teams database

Also no collections at the London Stadium
-
Theres barely any decent one for home fans
-
They do that for every West Ham home game unfortunately
-
In fairness a lot of the weaknesses people talk about on this thread are things that Manning could potentially work on. He’s a good solid defender which is a good base to start with Obviously Manning isn’t going to improve players overnight Funnily enough in the Southampton game i thought he was one of our better players
-
Genuine question as I’m curious, what happens if one or both teams don’t turn up? Presumably if one don’t they forfeit but what about both?
-
I’m undecided as train strikes etc make going to home games a long day but renewed this season as had a feeling of FOMO whilst we were under Nige. Whilst under the new head coach I’ve seen glimpses like the first half at Southampton I’ve kind lost that FOMO Ideally for me the club would introduce a more flexible season ticket which would allow me to pick and choose games more as the choice currently is getting a season ticket or being a member and paying silly matchday prices with a small discount

When the stadium opened the fans in the cheapest seats had to sign a disclaimer stating that their seats wouldn’t be available for cup games due to the 10% requirement The regular away allocation is both upper and lower tiers. The lower is temporary seating which is closer to the pitch whilst the upper tier (including the extra bit for cup games) is some distance from the pitch
-
As a local who’s been there a few times for football the away section is in two sections. The lower tier is temporary seating albeit closer to the pitch whereas the upper tier is permanent seating but some distance from the pitch Ideal draw for me as will be home within half hour of the final whistle
