Time Since Last Bristol City Penalty
East Londoner replied to JackiDziekanowski's topic in Football Chat
That also highlights how ridiculous it is to have a competition with effectively different rules dependent on whose ground it is. VAR should be at all grounds or no grounds in this competition -
I’m willing one kid to try and break that game and keep going lower
-
Have to agree regarding Gabby Logan, i didn’t watch the World Cup so don’t know whether she’s improved or not but when Alex Scott started on soccer am she was pretty wooden
-
Pretty sure the booing was directly related to him releasing Dziekanowski who if i remember correctly gave a farewell speech over the pa either before that game or at half time
-
For the record whatever happens tonight where do you stand?

We have to at least give him the transfer window as it’s about to open. Replace him now and we either bring nobody in or end up making panic buys/loans which set us back even further -
Hands up, who is heading to Millwall then?

Did play with 10 for an hour mind -
It’s important to realise that change will take time. We had Mike Riley in charge for years who only seemed good at sending letters of apology whilst standards continued to fall So don’t be surprised if it takes another season or two before standards bottom out. As for VAR the concept is good but the application is terrible, I’d like to see a time limit put on reviews so if an offence is not found within 90 seconds for example then it’s not clear or obvious

Speaking of penalties, should we have had one? Only saw it live and looked a foul from where i was
-
Especially when every year at least two of them draw each other
-
Weird how many all prem ties and all championship ties there are yet again
-
It’s obvious they’ll raise their game against England, they always do
-
My memories of being a child of the 80’s is lots of tech that looked nice but didn’t really work and a string of disasters from the middle of the decade
-
Didn’t stop them poaching another teams manager though..

I did both last season. At Cardiff we got kettled after the game and at Swansea it was before and in the reverse fixture neither happened
-
Why is it when we go to Cardiff or Swansea we get kettled before and after the game but when they come here they’re given the freedom of the city and then allowed out immediately after the game?

Hillsborough chants and football fans’ fading memories
East Londoner replied to Antman's topic in Football Chat
It was policed by someone who’d only been in the job a month and who’d never policed a major football match before. So in a sense he was set up to fail but arrogance both on his part and SYP played a very big part in what transpired Having read the independent panels report the previous year was uncomfortable and some people got pulled up into the seats above but the major difference was police were organised the year before and operated a filter system outside the stadium meaning what occurred at the turnstiles before the game never happened I’d urge anyone who still blindly thinks that hillsborough was the fault of the fans to download the independent panels report some of it is very eye opening about how it could've been any teams supporters that day -
If anyone gets the chance watch tonight’s panorama on bbc iPlayer. It covers last seasons champions league final and some of the footage is shocking followed by the French trying to blame the Liverpool supporters Also there was the usual arrogance showed by uefa to cap it all off I know lots out there think Liverpool bring things on themselves but there’s no excuse for kids being tear-gassed and the authorities were very very lucky nobody was killed
-
Let’s be fair the Puyol bit was kind of a clue. Would’ve been a very weird way to come out
-
Well this has aged well. Apparently his twitter was hacked and he’s apologised to his family fans and more importantly the LGBT community. So as you were

All this year did was delay the inevitable, the best driver won Last year however…

Only F1 could replace rules that made sense but weren’t properly applied with ones that don’t make any sense 40 minutes racing but stopped by the clock is full points but 40 minutes racing stopped early isn’t ??
