  1. Not “significant” though. Man City sold like £50m worth of players (think 4) in that window to Soton, none of whose had played for the senior team. £1.5m is a snip. Even discounting the tax for English teams
  2. They sold him for around £1.5m. Considering it was in the same window where they sold Lavia (who also hadn’t played for the senior team) to Southampton for £20m I’m not sure it can count as a “significant fee” in any way
  3. Ok Mr Manning, I’ve heard enough
  4. They still have to live in that place for 5 years or have a relative from there be able to play for the national team. The Home Nations don’t allow naturalisation so Wells was never eligible for us or Wales or Scotland or NI. Same way someone born in Hong Kong isn’t eligible for the Chinese National Team. He’d be eligible for Hong Kong’s. Passport does not equal eligible. Most places you’ll be able to get a passport long before you become eligible to play internationally for them. I, obviously, have a British passport but I couldn’t play for Scotland because I don’t have any Scottish relatives. I could play for Wales though as my granddad was Welsh. That’s how it works here.
  5. He got Welsh parents/grandparents then? Can’t find any info saying he’s eligible for Wales. Not that he’d ever play for them With just the *checks notes* 25 caps as well.
  6. No they absolutely could not. Good lord. We all have separate national teams so of course English, Scottish, Northern Irish and Scottish are nationalities in football. Sweet Jesus lad. The only way any of those you mentioned could play for Wales under FIFA rules is by living there for 5 years. Except the Home Nations all have a gentlemen’s agreement to not pick any naturalised players.
  7. ““It was a tough one on Sunday. We’ve got a young squad of players, Rob Dickie at 27 was the oldest player on the pitch [note: Dickie turned 28 earlier this month, the same age as Harry Cornick]”
  8. He’s the epitome of everything that’s wrong with “modern managers”. Thinks footballs played in excel and forgets it’s arguably the simplest game in the world and that’s why we all love it. Gimme someone like Big Ange and his “I’d rather win 4-3 than 1-0, mate” over Manning and the spreadsheet crew any day of the week.
  9. Are you suggesting Tinnion is dumb?!
  10. Well, however happy he is, his agent is shopping him about in the football equivalent of a Super Bowl advert. Fabrizio is usually tweeting about Mbappe not the likes of us. His tweet before Conway was about Bellingham ffs.
  11. Manning is basically a novice “why am I not winning” Football Manager player. They either adamantly stick to one tactic/way of playing because “it worked before” or “it worked for this other team” or they change tactic every game, lose, and wonder why they’re losing.
  12. Oh no yeah it was about Tinnion bragging the other month that we sold him for £400k like it was the deal of the century or something
  13. Sold him for £400k though didn’t we? Cheers Mr Tinman, what a deal.
  14. *sigh* Opens free agent manager page on transfermarkt
  15. 12:30 Saturday kick off, between two shite teams, in the cold and wet. Everyone who’s gone to the game today is probably re-evaluating every life decision that has led them to this moment.
