  1. A complete fraud. The constant assertion that he needed more players, different players, more leaders, different clubs in the bag culminating in over 60 players signed over 9 transfer windows only served him to cover his lack of coaching skills and the ability to build a team. Once the majority of Steve Cotterill's side had been moved on his weaknesses were laid bare for everyone to see. You may gather I wasn't and never was a fan either as a player or manager.
  2. A lot of assumptions being made about the players by folk who weren't around at the time. It's wrong to say they must have been crap because they got relegated twice. That wasn't how it was. By the time the insolvency arose all the better players had left, the problems started in the old Div 1, players like Hunter Royle and of course Collier left and weren't replaced. Top players like Ritchie, Whitehead, Gerry Gow, Kevin Mabbutt,Harford were sold. Others like Cormack had gone too. The one's that were left hadn't been sold because they had little value because of their age. They were on decen
  3. Oh dear Grossly overpaid bad footballers ! Chris Garland Geoff Merrick Trevor Taunton etc They were on £400 a week and got 10k to walk away. Really overpaid weren't they.
  4. I note the big focus on the AG8 story to market and sell the kit, appeal to fans, and pay tribute. Didn't see anything about the percentage of shirt sales bearing the AG8 names being donated to the AG8. I must have missed that. Can anyone tell me where that bit can be seen.
  5. My first thought when I read Mike's post ! If there' a massive covid outbreak related to a game attended by fans. It was the SCAT wot done it. They will be what "The Science" is to Boris.,
  6. sausage sandwich ... Red or Brown with it ?
  7. It's a difficult situation, the 32 games are now valued at £320, most will have paid more than this. If the club refund the difference and the fans are allowed back at some point then the club will lose as they will have reduced your S/T to £10/game rather than the original cost. Most likely is that they will refund in blocks or month by month until they know what's happening. Clearly they would like to keep the money so expect some kind of offer in lieu.......free shirt, food & drink credit to be redeemed when the stadium opens etc. etc I'm sure Jon Lansdown will sort this out quick
  8. Presumably we can buy a £10 pass to watch the weekend away matches ? If not via BCTV then by visiting the home club's website and opening an account and buying the game there.
  9. I keep an eye on Hereford since they reformed as a fan owned club following their demise at the hands of a crook...I used to work near there and several die hard fans were friends....Beadle did a good job, recruited well for the level/budget and got them several promotions and it was a surprise when the board (fans) for rid of him . As Royston....said they've stagnated since then. I thought he had enough about him to get them back into the EFL where their fans deserve. Great old school ground as well.
  10. I don't see Holden having much input into the targets we are monitoring, other than the token "final nod" for the recruitment department's chosen players. Ashton has told us repeatedly that his team "work all year on recruitment " to find the exact players to fit into our system . I'm sure the lists were already in place regardless of who the Head Coach is. The whole point of appointing DH was that he fits into the structure and works with Ashton. Presumably a budget has been set for the new season comprising whatever income the club can muster - including the oft quoted "player trades"
  11. So let's see where we are, 6 weeks ago 90% of fans were wanting Hughton appointed. 1 week ago there was disbelief and disappointment when Holden is appointed, Ashton gives a weak interview on radio and the fanbase is not happy. One "story" is then fed out by Bristol Sport through Gregor (who interestingly doesn't publish it in his paper) to a useful idiot who posts it on Twitter and away we go.... Now a growing number are subscribing to the narrative that Hughton was unprepared unrealistic and yesterday's man who can't get a Job anywhere, and weren't we lucky to dodge that bulle
  12. You just made that up. Funny that you never once mentioned that on the 172 page thread that ran for 5 weeks titled Chris Hughton. Get in the bin.
  13. Hughton - quiet, measured, humble, experienced, never heard anything detremental in the press about his character. So, ask yourself : would he really come in unprepared with unrealistic expectations of an expensive squad overhaul at a time of financial turmoil for all clubs outside of the PL and be all Billy big bollox thinking he had the job? Or is the OP full of shite? Think about it.
  14. 1992 for live football , BSB merged with Sky in 1990 but the live football started when the PL was formed.
  15. after a rigorous interview process, he was clearly the stand out candidate
  16. Best not to waste your time on a thread speculating on who the Head Coach and Assistant might be then?
  17. me too , What goes around. Macca replaced Pemberton who LJ threw under the bus to make it look like Pembo was responsible for the record losing run. First rule of survival in management, appoint a weak no 2 who will not overshadow you, pose a threat, or give the people in charge an easy out by making it easy to sack you when there's a decent no 2 ready to step up. (See Boris Johnson for case study). That's why LJ appointed McCallister and that's why Holden would appoint a man with zero coaching experience aka Williams.
  18. And his current one to.....
  19. Exactly, Ashton Exactly, Ashton will spin that after extensive interviews Dean was the stand out candidate (is better than Hughton Cook Gerrard Lowe etc) , don't forget when LJ was appointed Ashton claimed he'd carried out an exhaustive search and the one name that always came up as the best young coach in the country was LJ- and HE recommend him to SL , not the other way around. Mind you following the 8 game losing run I heard him mention ....when Steve appointed Lee.... during one of his interviews !
  20. You missed out the Dolman tannoy, and the cold hand driers together with the equally cold pies. The promised chips in the Dolman concourse, Jon's centenary shirt and trap 4 was blocked by a huge log at the last game. The list of the club's crimes is endless!
  21. Intrigued to learn the Harrogate owner - when he took over 11 years ago - installed his son as manager and of course his son is now still manager 11 years on. I really hope SL was busy this afternoon and not watching as he COULD get ideas......
  22. Exactly,, why would we be interested in in someone with 2 promotions from the Championship and a play off finish on their CV when we have Dean Holden interested....................
  23. None of those are his responsibility, there are stadium managers, CT managers, marketing and branding teams who do all that. The logo was done by a professional design house. Laughable to think he concepted, designed, and implemented, it himself. Some red coloured glasses being worn tonight
  24. How does anything about his education ( mediocre degree in Business Studies at Southampton by the way) qualify him to interview and appoint the person to lead the club forward. As I said, so far, everything he's touched has turned to shit
  25. Unfortunately everything Jon touches - or even glances at fleetingly - instantly turns to shit. How on earth is he qualified to interview professional football coaches. Name one successful project he has delivered on...
