  1. Bull shit. We're losing because we can't defend corners and have missed a clear chance. We are not being 'ripped to shreds' we're beating ourselves
  2. Bristol Sport should get Riley together with Andy Uren from Bristol Bears to discuss such matters. That would be a meeting of minds if ever there were one.
  3. Have to admit to being perplexed that he's playing on the right of a 3. He's not going to be too comfortable when dragged wide. I was guessing Atkinson would be on the left and Klose the right. Leave Cundy to attack the ball.
  4. What are you on about? I said if he thinks. That means everything that follows in my post is conditional on that.
  5. Sorry but if Nige thinks we're okay at CB we're in trouble. To my mind it's the route of our problems, especially with regard to leadership. We need a Wes Morgan. Personally I'd accept a reasonable offer (£1/£2 million):for Kalas in order to sign a captain and leader at CB. Kalas is not the long term answer.
  6. But there are educated guesses using a bit of common sense. Minevis that In all likelihood he was on something in the region of £3 to £5 k per week. Anything more would've been overpayment. Anything less you'd wonder whether it would've been worth his while considering his career.
  7. Loan players are a classic false economy. For every Tammy Abraham there is a long long list of total failures.
  8. I think the key thing is our recruitment team should now know what they are looking for, The Leicester signings made sense in the context that Nige probably wasn't impressed by suggestions (with the exception of Atkinson) and the 'team' wouldn't have as clear an idea of what is needed as they do now. Playing Bell there is simply Testing his mettle rather than his right back abilities, If he comes through it hardened it will have been worth his while. Wouldn't surprise me to see him have a future as a wing back/wide midfielder.
  9. People need to remember that our recruitment department was basically whoever Mark Ashton's preferred agents suggested before. I suspect there wasn't a long list of candidates so he went for what he knew. Simpson getting paid a relatively small amount is still nowhere near as bad as Chris Brunt though.
  10. Player welfare my arse. How do you know he's been damaged. Just making shit up aren't you?
  11. We saw on Saturday why this '1st choice' thing is futile. Both are half fit and injury prone. No point planning for them as 1st choice. Statistically got about a 5% chance of playing together. Concentrate on the 95% when at least one of them isn't available. Massengo and Scott are our best partnership. They play together. What we saw on Saturday was a disgraceful hand wringing from experienced pros Williiams, Kalas, James, Weimann. No one sorted the problem down the right. I hope they were told so by the manager.
  12. Sorry but Williams wasn't shit. Wish the version of him we saw was playing now. We'd have some leadership at least.
  13. Won tactical battle v Boro didn't he? But no one credited him with that
  14. I sensed real frustration from Scott too. He missed playing next to Massengo.
  15. Proper darts set up. Clincher for me
  16. Not offended just fed up with 'ooh look at us we're so ******* worthy'. As I said before, do something meaningful to help.
  17. Well said. Want to really help rather than the suggested virtue signalling? https://www.bristolworld.com/culture/where-in-bristol-can-i-donate-clothes-to-ukraine-how-to-help-refugees-with-donations-and-volunteering-3592181
  18. Personally I find it completely inappropriate. That's all.
  19. People are being shot, blown up forced from their homes and we want to play in a different kit because it will get us good publicity??
  20. Yep. The issues with Martin being overplayed are less relevant with just 1 midweek game left. He did look really leggy earlier in the season when there were a lot more midweek games though and surely we'll be signing another striker who can play the target man role when Wells leaves? I'm looking forward to seeing Cundy start. He was on a very good upward trajectory before injury and must be fully imbedded into the squad. Be surprised if we don't offer him a contract.
  21. Well done @weston red for your bravery. Obviously some of us aren't up to the high standards expected .
  22. Sorry that's rubbish. We are not on the verge of bankruptcy. And there hasn't been a fire. There may well be more than 3 sales but that might be because we want rid of them? For example Kalas or Bentley. Still would command a fee but if Nige has decided they aren't what he wants long term then why not sell now and buy long term replacements. That's player trading not a fire sale.
