The Yellow Tape Incident

This bunch of Aussie cricketers, Lehmann including have prided themselves of playing cricket in an aggressive manner. Now , I don't have a problem with cricket being played on the front foot, going for shots and with quick hostile bowling but they've taken that philosophy way too far.

Its now spread onto the pitch. Personalised sledging, some of it homophobic and other crude verbal abuse of an OTT level.

Sledging happens at all levels of cricket but this lot have no awareness as to what is amusing and what is insulting.

Other test playing nations hate them because of it and because of the double standards they employ. Lehmann whinging about the SA crowds.....jeez...........  Aussie players confronting the opposition in the players tunnel.

They seem like an unruly bunch  who are leaderless.Smith might be the current best batsman in the world but is out of his depth as a leader of men and who appointed Wagner as vice captain............:disapointed2se:

As an Englishman I'm delighted to see them in so much shit but saddened for the way they have abused the spirit of the game.

The most mental part of this scandal is why the Aussie cheating bastards thought that they even needed to bother to cheat against England FFS?, England couldn't beat an egg at the moment.

England just can't win away it seems but all the Aussie cheating headlines has at least taken spot light off our dreadful away record.

Smith saying he won't stand down. That means he' should be sacked by cricket Australia. They won't tolerate a cheat as captain. Its against the laws and the spirit of the game.

This absolutely  shocking behaviour adds to chaotic and unacceptable behaviour already seen in this series. Surely Smiths position is untenable.

See the source image  ... "terrible at Tenable..Mr Smith''

It is also being reported that Lehmann radioed the 12 th man to pre warn Bancroft that a video had appeared on the TV feed and that the umpires were going to be told what had happened,

** Bancroft then took the tape from his pocket and hid it in his skiddies ...

** just scratching his balls...  :whistle2: obviously.

Love it. The Ashes series this Winter will go down as the year the Aussies cheated.

Australia thrashed England in the 2017 Ashes; their superior bowlers, unlike England's supposed swing bowling expert, Jimmy Anderson, or even Chris Woakes, were able to swing the ball so early in the innings that England were unable to cope and just collapsed.

And isn't it sad, that questions must now be asked as to how Australia's bowlers managed to get the ball to swing?

Was it their superior skill or some foreign object?

Exactly this, the problem is not so much the offence, it's the utter arrogance of this Australian team to almost openly flaunt what they were doing so publicly and then the collusion involved in trying to cover it all up that is the real problem, I think they believed themselves untouchable.

I also have to say that in light of the crossing of the sledging line by use of racism, sexism and sexuality and just downright vulgar comments, this could and should have been dealt with at source by the umpires and that appears not to be the case, perhaps some of this has been picked up by the microphones used and if so then perhaps the commentators could have played a more active role once the line has been crossed?

They were discussing it on Sky before the start of play in NZ the other night and all of the panel were of the opinion that this incident in isolation normally wouldn't bring talk of sackings and long bans, however because of the premeditated nature of it, and when you add it to everything else that's gone on with that team in the last couple of years, it's the final straw for a lot of people.

All feels like another big cover-up, from Smith saying that it was the experienced core that were privvy to the idea of ball tampering, even cricket Australia have now announced that it was only Smith, Warner & Bancroft who knew about it, so how many lies can be said about one incident?

It’s even being reported that the players don’t want anything to do with Warner now but given that it was only those 3 players that knew about it, why have they named Paine as their new captain, someone who only came back into the squad prior to the Ashes, is he their most senior player?

Nothing happening to Lehmann either, Australia had a chance to clean up their game & they’ve just allowed themselves to cover it all up even further!! Complete joke!!

I'm not having it that none of the bowlers knew anything. Surely they would have noticed the ball changing condition and behaving differently?

Surely everyone would of been told to get the ball to Bancroft asap so he can ‘work his magic’ & ‘shine’ the ball up, it’s not unusual for a team to have a designated shiner, it’s just unusual for the ‘shiner’ to use sugar, sandpaper or tape with gravel on it, most shiners would use their trousers or at most a dry cloth! But not Bancroft & the Australian’s!!

Steve Smith is an Aussie He wears a baggy cap And when he saw some sticky tape He said I'm having that... He gave it Cameron Bancroft Who rubbed it on the ball Those cheating Aussie convicts They'll never change at all!

They are even more of a laughing stock tonight. Obvious to anyone with a brain that Lehman and all the bowlers knew about it. Absolutely spineless. Get ready for another pathetic press conference tomorrow.

It's absolutely pathetic. It seems that these days you can basically deny anything and lie, despite all the evidence stacked against you and get away with it.

The ICC regs are a joke as well. Ball tampering (aka cheating) gets you a 1 match ban? Physical contact such as a shoulder barge on the crease gets you a 4 match ban.

Test cricket is already flagging and then the cheating Aussie ******* do this. All integrity gone.

There definitely has to be suspicion about the ashes, they were reverse swinging the ball in conditions that weren’t at all conducive to it and a bowler of the quality of Anderson couldn’t.......   Gutted really, as test cricket is my favourite form of the game, but it’s seems to be in decline and incidents like this won’t help its revival anytime soon.
