Frenchay Red
He was my favourite player for a while, when I were a lad. Always remember his star performance against Blackpool in the cup, when the great Stanley Matthews was playing.

cidered abroad
Like many wingers in the 1950 / 1960 era, on his day, he was unstoppable. But the reverse was a day when nothing went right. He played in an era when wingers hugged the touchline and didn't have defensive duties. A decent player was Wally and he was also a reasonable cricketer for a local club while he was here. Had two sons who played league football and I believe one or two of his grandsons also made the grade. Thanks for the memories, Wally.

He was well before my time but 148 games in four years is good going by anyone`s standard. RIP Wally.
Ivorguy
If memory serves I remember him wearing the Arsenal strip of red and white shirts which City used for a short period. Perhaps someone can say whether this is a true memory or not.
sglosbcfc
I didn't watch City until the early 80s but I'm pretty sure the City team he was a part of wore red shirts with white sleeves, white shorts and red and white hooped socks.
