A lot of bollocks there, but some sense.

For me, the daftest thing was the reference to the "Brighton Conurbation"  erm.... W.T.F. ?!

A conurbation is an area that has been built up by towns and cities being joined together. West Midlands is a conurbation including Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Stourbridge, West Bromwich, Walsall and a significant number of smaller towns.

H.T.F. did they arrive at Brighton being a conurbation ?!

Gashead on 6-0-6 now and he just couldn't help himself and spent as long summarising Rovers' current position as he did telling the listening public that us City fans will be running for the hills and hiding behind our sofas because they won promotion today (certainly sounded like they had) and they are building their new stadium ready for next Saturday.

Oh, and their owner is a billionaire don't you know.

Got to love their attendance delusions, they have not attracted a season average in double figures since 10,022 in1976, that's 40 years of not even hitting 28.6% of the proposed capacity of the billionaire backed building of a new Wembely in the West! Indeed they have only passed a seasonal attendance of 10,000 28 times since 1921-a 29% strike rate, obviously historical....given that the vast majority of Gaseous B'stards who witnessed these rare events are either 50+ or dead, the breading stock is, therefore, dwindling !

City have had av attendances over 10,000:

  •  68 times since 1921 -
  •  28 times since 1976
  • 16 times since 2000/2001 (even though capacity has been reduced)

Conversely the Propane Methane's  have:

  • Hit 7k 5 times since 2000/2001
  • Hit + 7k 10 times since 1976
  • been sub 6k 17 times since 1976

So other than during the post war attendance boom, the Sags have attracted very few, the recent boom totally passed them by, but as we all know they are a sleeping giant and like all sleeping giants we've never seen any evidence they exist, so why bother to build a house for one!!!!!

Unless, in the tradition of Bristol another empty folly is to be built by a rich nutter. Blaise Castle 2?

Rovers fan mentality: win to go into the auto spots, don't celebrate but look at the City result.

Correct - I was in the car earlier and Rovers were the DAB commentary on Radio Bristol and during the short bit I listened to it was announced that City had gone 3 down.

The Rovers employee co-commentator chuckled and then stated that that scoreline would be on the Rovers scoreboard for the former non-leaguers to laugh at.

Obsession - a perfume by Bristol Rovers

Actually some pretty sensible posts on that thread by Gasheads who wonder if 35k might be a bit on the large side for Rovers given the clubs previous attendances at L1 and Championship level. Predictably they're being branded 'shitheads' and told to go back to OTIB by the deluded morons who regularly post on that board....as if sensibly arguing your point whilst backing up your theory with facts must mean you're a City fan?

Love the way one of them suggests that the reason Rovers haven't regularly had 30k attendances over the last 40 years is because Eastville, Twerton and the Mem had capacities below that figure....presumably he thinks they've sold out every match for the last 4 decades.

Personally I think both clubs would attract 27,000 in the Prem, but rarely see that figure in the Championship (unless there was a dramatic change in the football viewing habits of most Bristolians) and certainly not in L1.

Post more often please, as this is not only funny but factually undeniable - not that it'll stop the c**** trying. In fact, why not post it on their c***chat forum or whatever it's called and watch as they fall over themselves in ignorant indignation.

One Team. Always has been for over 100 years (even during their "heyday" of the 50s - such as it was - they managed to beat us just 4 times in 17 attempts).

There's more than enough self-awareness hereabouts. Taking the piss out of your tinpot, deluded, itinerant rivals and acknowledgement we should be doing better are not mutually exclusive.

Granted but the city have to stay up for us to have a go. Get cidered up if we beat mighty Rotherham, they are another tinpot club.

Don't you think we should worry about ourselves underachieving

Another game gone, a failure on the 22nd placed team to capitalise on our defeat. Short answer; no. In golfing parlance, that was a 'mulligan'.

Jeez, really? Do they still do that?

*cringe*

According to co-commentator, Keith Brookman - who is their stadium manager - yes they do.

To be fair to them, now that they have drawn level on points with Accrington Stanley, I think that entitles them to take the piss out of us.
