Conceding that early turning out to be a blessing

Yep.....brought England out and when they play on the front foot they look pretty damn good.

5-1 before half time.

Raheem Sterling is unplayable tonight. On fire

He is, but was definitely trying to sink that fifth one in and just so happened to drop to Sancho.

Can’t see too many empties from the back of the Northam Stand although there will have been plenty of latecomers as it was a shambles getting in (quite a few of the turnstiles were closed).

Sterling has to have achieved ‘World Class’ rating

Pep deserves a lot credit for him working on end product and shooting. He’s delivering the goods at international level consistently now.   If he can just turn Foden promise into similar we’re going to have some team..

Was just about to post the same.

He used to frustrate the hell out of me a couple of years back, now he's a defenders worst nightmare.

Kosovo wearing dark blue maybe?

Yes but I would have thought as the away side it would be down to them to wear shorts that don’t clash with our home ones.

Confess total ignorance of the offside rule these days. Pls can someone explain to me how Sancho wasn’t offside for the fifth goal?  Cheers.

Behind the ball I think. Can''t be offside if you're behind the ball when it is played.

When Sterling squared the ball back he was level, so onside, even though only the Goalkeeler was in front of him.

Ah right. Thanks. Was aware the rule had changed (seems to change every year) but didn't know about behind the ball. To my old eyes, he was miles off 🙂

I think this one has been the rule for, well, years. Not sure if it technically behind the ball or behind the player making the pass, think it is the latter. Having said that, with VAR not entirely sure he did not have a toenail in front.

Terrible.

Also had England 7-1 at 40/1 so I'm pissed off now.

Kane misses a penalty.

Shows how piss our defense is, Southgate or players?

The set plays can be "scripted", but the rest of the play at this level has to be the responsibilty of the players themselves.

Interesting, why aren't all players who foul in the penalty area booked?

Not every foul is worthy of a booking

Yep, myself brother got caught in the traffic - there were also still hundreds outside at kick off - thankfully the stewards in the Northam Stand decided to open one extra entrance about 5 minutes before kick off, so I just made it in time.

That midfield is not winning a major tournament.

Not against top opposition they won’t and the defence is shaky to say the least.

England strength is the the strike force. Kane and Sterling in particular.

Foden over Barkley, Rice needs to improve but is young so understandable, Henderson good but needs to sharpen up for England. Don’t get me started on defence.

Probably get pelters for this but I’d also start Rashford over Kane. Better movement, link up play etc.

Rice looks like a League 1 Centre half playing in midfield

No  meaningful interceptions or tackles

Poor passing

His movement to make himself available for a pass is frighteningly poor
