He would be absolutely ******* them as well as they wouldn’t get any compensation would they

Has there been an issue of payment of wages? If so could mean breach of contract and entitled to walk away

I so hope this is true.

Would explain the delay and not signing Hughton.

You’d hope we’re the more attractive proposition if we’re both after him.

Didn’t know Birmingham were interested

Putting his Wigan achievements in perspective over the past couple of years here is this year's league table based solely on player wages......

A pretty incredible achievement to effectively get them 13th imo. I went to the Wigan away game this season too and thought they outplayed us for large parts.

Why wouldn’t he get us promoted? He has a decent amount of promotions on his CV already. Shows he knows what it takes. Odd assumption.

Wouldn’t class it as an odd assumption at all. This is a hard division to get out of & i don’t see Paul Cook doing it for us. Success in League 1 & League 2 is a completely different thing to success in the Championship, just look at Cotts. Happy to be proven wrong, but would take Hughton over Cook, would feel more confident in promotion under him.

That’s it then ?

Wigan Athletic manager Paul Cook is set to leave his role at the club in the next 24 hours
A source at the DW Stadium said that Cook, who joined the Latics back in 2017, will be stepping down from his position on Wednesday (July 28) after three years and 155 games in charge.
Cook’s impending departure comes despite the 53-year-old having two years left on his contract at the north-west outfit.
