Good god, the negativity on here is awful, I wonder why I bother at times. Let’s see the result at 4.45 before we criticise the line up.

I logged off at half time in the Exeter game because, basically, the thread stank. I wished I'd opted out before kick-off. This time I'll get it right.

Dasilva>Rowe

Hunt isnt that good.

Midfield looks a bit soft and weak. We won't have much possession.

Would like to see Morrell and Walsh in the middle

Rowe still very good defensively , I don’t know why you think Jack Hunt “isn’t that good” one of our better chance creators and massengo looked bright in pre season and in training , don’t right them off before the first Minute.

Walsh is one of the many injured.

Morrell is rested after playing internationals.

Several newbies are not fully fit yet ...

This was all covered in the presser.

He is ineffective and isnt a central midfielder i would of had James morton or vyner playing centre midfield ahead of him,

So you wouldn’t have Weimann in midfield because he isn’t a central midfielder but would happily have a centre back/right back there?

Morton hasn’t played above league 2 level before, big big ask for him to come into the side

Any suggestion on how long Dasilva is out for?

Given that Dean told us last weekend that Walsh and Williams would miss 3 or 4 games then said in the presser it would be "weeks - hopefully" , I am not optimistic. Long term injuries to key players seems to be our thing!

Have feel good feelings about coming season.  As usual though under the national media radar.

Good solid squad.  In my opinion probably best overall squad we have ever had.

Team today is fine.  Holden made it quite clear that new players and returning internationals were either not up to speed or hadn’t trained enough this week.  No surprises there.

Holden has also said he would try and keep a settled team.  One injury one replacement, necessitating one change of position.  Rowe is entirely dependable at left back and Kalas is central to our defence, and first name on defensive team sheet, hence his being made captain in place of Weimann.

Weimann himself is one of those players whose skills are not always fully appreciated at Ashton Gate.  His football brain is first class but you cannot expect at this level that he will get it right every time or that those around him will be on same wavelength.  His goals alone are worth his inclusion.

Looking forward to a comfortable 2 goal difference win

Probably chaps like me. Out escorting a visitor around the sites of my beautiful home city. I can neither watch or listen, but the matchday thread gives me some idea of how we are doing.

It can't be that much of a different coaching style as the head coach has been here for about 5 years

Yeah, but Lee would've had the last say previously plus we have Simpson and Downing supporting Holden/his instructions.

Let see what happens today. It's going to be tough becuase of missing players don't forget. Hopefully OTIB won't do its ever predicatble implode after 5 minutes today.

OTIB is back at its incredulous ’best’ DH has selected the same starters as the cup game, with the exception of Rowe in for Jay (calf injury)

He had already signalled that the newcomers might not quite be match ready and the fact three are on the bench suggests they aren’t too far off.

IMO today midfield is really the only place he has selection decisions to make, elsewhere pretty much takes care of its self.

Why would DH not have selected his strongest line-up based on what he’s seen of the squad?

Come on you Reds.
