weepywall
Our local TV coverage of sport is useless, I've seen TV coverage in the Midlands and they show all the goals from Villa down to Walsall.
flipflopcity
Maybe we are sport bossed from south wales ... look on the BBC football website.. go to championship section and at the bottom you will usually find story's about Cardiff, Swansea or their players past and present, their managers etc .. perhaps Bristol and the S. West don't exist.. there are more league clubs in our region than all of south wales .. and a bigger population.

Hampshire Red
Come on NTTDS, you had a great view last night! Anyway who watches teh BBC for anything; 'orrible organisation with bent news views and shocking management. For the goals YouTube usually has them first if you want to catch-up. Last nights were excellent but i still keep wondering if Massengo should have taken a hit for the team and fouled they guy he was always behind. At the time i was shouting "No! No! he wont scored against Bents from there".In hindsight a shoulder block obstruction may have been the best thing - Italy would have done that

Basically this is because BBC Sport Wales employs about 2 journalists for every single sporting club they have. Newport (in L2) Wrexham (non league) get far more in depth coverage than even certain Championship sides & as you say, 90% of the Championship features are about either Cardiff or Swansea. Glamorgan cricket the same. Absolute joke.
Red_Alligator
Local news on both sides is unwatchable full stop. I usually catch up with goals in the Championship on Sky Sports football online video.
Never to the dark side
Not every one has or wants to have access to a computer, so I am thinking of those whos only way of getting to see any goal action is on their tellys. So why should those who don't have a computer, have to wait till 9pm on Wednesday night to see the goal action, nearly 24 hours after they were scored? zippycar
Points West is now unwatchable, unless you care about Alpacas and any other minority interest. As far as the BBC is concerned, anyone of my era and upbringing is now a dinosaur and totally irrelevant.

Is the day after the game really so terrible considering it was a late kick off? In any case I suspect any delays are due to the ownership rights - ie Sky not making them available to the other channels.

IAmNick
For some context I'm pretty sure NTTDS is a sky shareholder or something, and ages ago used to post almost daily criticism of "OUR PUBLIC BROADCASTER" on here. While he sometimes has a point he also has a huge agenda and has for a long time.

Programs like Poldark, The Night manager, Killing Eve, Pride and Prejudice, Gentleman Jack - all top viewing. NTTDS has a fair point tho. Local news should include the goals from our local clubs but I guess that the reason they don’t always show them is the time restrictions.

The BBC seems to see it's raison d'etre as being to lecture the public and actively attempt to indoctrinate us to it's way of thinking on it's numerous pet subjects. If you resist then the repetitive forcing of it's opinions ('news)' just becomes a constant irritant. Used to watch the BBC news and listen to 5Live - knocked both on the head completely about 2 years ago and feel much the better for doing so. Still listen to City commentaries on RB, but that's about it.
Dr Balls
There is no doubt that the Welsh influence (and money thrown at it) affects sports coverage and exposure in this part of the world. Football definitely and even more so cricket, where Somerset and Gloucestershire have outperformed Glamorgan consistently over the years, but with a large dollop of taxpayer money via the Welsh government and their City Council, Cardiff rather than Bristol became a test match venue. Given the poor attendances and worse weather over there that’s even more of a joke. Plus when they allocate Hundred franchises, one has to go to Cardiff for the England (& Wales) Cricket Board for “Welsh Fire”. Immediately disenfranchises the West Country (not that I am too upset about missing the Hundred) and particularly the very successful Women’s 20/20 team based in the west. Funnily enough the one sport where we don’t lack for coverage in the west is Rugby, despite the potential Welsh influence and players moving across from South Wales. Of course, a long history of success at the top level for the likes of Bath, Bristol and Gloucester helps. If all 3 had football teams in the Premier League, I dare say we might get more football coverage, especially as the media (including the BBC) loves the PL, almost to the exception of all other football. Abraham Romanovich
Just to cheer NTTDS up I have come across this in the Swansea Forum. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/forum/275263/page:2 They are discussing trains back from Swansea on Friday night and Parsons Street is highly recommended. However one particular poster is convinced back in the day the police escort was from Bristol Parkway to Ashton Gate a 7 mile trek. Hardly believable.(confused us with Rovers which must be a first) Out of interest what is the furthest distance can anyone claim to have walked to a match.
