WolfOfWestStreet
That's as good as I've seen any team play for quite some time. Lovely balance to their team.

handsofclay
West Ham were a good side to watch last season and even without their famous loan player from Manchester this season they're just as enjoyable to view. It's a great shame that Scott Davison and his colleagues chose to give the City job to Pulis at the turn of the century and not David Moyes. Show Me The Money!
So glad for Moyes that he’s proved what a good manager he is. BUTOR
The terminology does piss me off. Carlton Cole is in the top 5 ‘premier league goalscorers’ for West Ham. I never think about who our ‘Championship all time top goal scorer’ is

Ska Junkie
West ham and Chelsea have been the pick so far for me, both consistently good. Chelsea looked ominously good in the first 45 yesterday.

A clear example of how much time is required to turn around clubs that are in the sh1t. Sadly, very few managers get the time required. The West Ham owners (for all their other faults) realised the mistake in bowing to fan pressure. They got their man back and now look at them. Yes, the wheels could come off if they don't add a few players, but they no longer look like relegation fodder, very far from it.

Fontaineofallknowledge
The way West Ham played last night is the way nige wants to play-high tempo, aggressive, pressing, physical 4-2-3-1 we need a right back, an Antonio type and a couple of pacey forwards to play behind the striker imo
Phileas Fogg
I think an athletic, strong and hardworking forward like Antonio is exactly what we need. Chris Martin is fine, but he's not quite athletic or mobile enough to be exactly what we need. I think whilst the squad personnel is still evolving, we will need a forward who can press and defend from the front. Once Pearson has the personnel he wants, I suspect he will use a more typical 'on the shoulder' forward.
OneTeamInBristol
Brilliant striker, can do it all. I remember seeing him play when he was at Wednesday and he looked very powerful then. Just a shame that he's hitting the top fairly late on at 31.

They were very happy for Amartey and Soyuncu to have the ball and knock it between themselves. Once they got up to halfway they forced errors due to lack of forward options and Rice had an easy cut out numerous times.

It looked like they did to me, the pressing trigger was as soon as the CBs tried to play it out wide to the full backs or to midfielder coming short. Very tactically astute from Moyes.
