Never to the dark side
as the LAST train station to be constructed in the Bristol area, way back in 1927(although OUR local Radio station said it was 1925. Simez
Surely Filton Abbey Wood was the last station to be constructed in the Bristol area? 4
pongo88
Filton Abbey Wood and Parkway are both in South Gloucestershire

I saw the headline and thought all my efforts in buying returns to Parson Street had been in vain. 2

miser
There will be a direct connection to the new station, so if you fancy a visit to the Park and Ride, you can still start your journey from Parson Street

But when Parson Street was built, wouldnt it have been in Somerset ? Just that the OP said Bristol area so S.Glos would qualify.

Although Filton became part of the Bristol conurbation in the 1930s following extensive house building it remained, as it does now, outside the city boundary. There used to be a sign marking the boundary of Bristol on Gloucester Road North roughly opposite St Theresa’s Church. Parkway station is at Stoke Gifford which has never been regarded as part of Bristol. Places like Filton, Longwell Green etc tend to be regarded as part of Bristol, but the City’s boundaries have never been expanded to include them. Parliamentary boundaries confuse things further as at various times wards such as Filton, Patchway and Stoke Gifford were included even though they were in Gloucestershire. As is ever the case, @Never to the dark side is correct
