    He's an old fashioned football man, and there's nothing wrong with that. There's a big place for his type of experience in any business. Football, like so many, is getting more obsessed with the young knowing it all and following this and other trends. I hope he steps down and continues the good work in the area he knows best. He's in a position that could seriously sour things for him, and the sooner he realises that the better. The youth and pathway structure is naturally evolving. Let him progress with that. He will only get miserable with this route. As will the rest of us.

    Matt W giving a LM/Tins reply, look at Ipswich losing to Cardiff. Really? What about their relentless consistency otherwise?

    and no, it isn't about instant bloody gratification. We want what we were bloody promised mate. With the squad the new coach and the rest were bloody happy with.

    Equally: Brian, you said that Liam and Chris were "brilliant" coaches on the grass, quite a word to use there. From what we've seen so far, are they equally good at in-game management? Surely the practical application of coaching and game planning is not down to the players alone when the whistle blows? Do you think they should shoulder more responsibility for performances of late?
