    Downsy

Can I just say, if I ever get into the shape of the Bristol rugby lads, please feel free to film me with my top off and put it on twitter. Male or female you are welcome to put 'sweating emojis'. As it is, if I took my top off now I think I'd look similar to Peter Beadle!
  2. I'm sure there will be 1000+ come kick off
  3. On the radio Owers said he thought it was because of Tanner's poor reaction after his bad back pass.
  4. Rosenior, Allison and Cole, a real handful for any defence. Unfortunately that team couldn't defend.
  5. Fine thanks for asking, they didn't see much of it and I got them away sharpish. They haven't mentioned it today and it won't put them off the footy. Although the last 2 minutes of the game nearly put me off the footy! ?
  6. I was trying to get my two young kids back to the car so was only glancing over, but it appeared a group of 6-8 Forest fans hit a City fan and then when 2 other City fans tried to intervene they were laid out on the road. It was a good half hour after the full time whistle but I did see a police van approaching. Hope the City fans are OK and left a sour taste after what was already a very painful evening.
  7. Sadly the song is true 'the gas, the gas, you'll never get rid of the gas' as most of their fans in this pic are 13, they will be around for another 70-75 years on average.
  8. No wonder Chelsea fans didn't turn up in their numbers at the Mem tonight. There is no way the Chelsea Headhunters are going to risk mixing it with the Rovers firm. They'd probably carry razors if any of them had started shaving yet!

Luke, you are correct in identifying the difficulties faced by many white, working class men, but please don't tell me you really believe it is easier to be born a black man in the UK in 2021 than it is a white man? If you do, we'll just have to agree to disagree as I find that belief to be staggeringly inaccurate.

All of them, by being born white in the UK you have an unearned advantage over black people. Of course you have to factor in class as well, a middle class black man (rare, but they exist) will have some advantages not enjoyed by a working class white man. However, the white man isn't going to be called a n******, is less likely to be pulled over by the police, followed by shop security, turned down for a job etc etc
  11. It really is a case of close the thread. i guess the only other game that you could make an argument for is the 1-0 defeat to Man Utd in 1909. If we'd won that game, we'd now proudly have a major honour.

Groups with privilege, like many white males, will feel threatened and defensive when that privilege is challenged. Realistically, we all know that racism and sexism will continue to exist in British society whilst even the youngest on this forum live. However, for SOME not ALL white males, BLM feels like a threat and a challenge to their 'top dog' status that they are not ready to relinquish. That is before we start on classism. Surely everyone on this forum can agree that life is a hell of a lot easier for a white, middle class male than it is for a black, working class woman for example.
  13. A real show of strength from the Geordies, the fact Messi was a boyhood Newcastle fan must have helped. I remember seeing him once In Barcelona with a Jimmy Nail album tucked under his arm, that should have been a clue.
  14. Spot on bcfc01, what a brilliant programme tonight. Alan Dicks came across very well and it was great to hear from Tom Ritchie and Clive Whitehead as well. Richard Latham is always worth a listen, I'm going to try to make the book event on Friday night.
  15. Massive game for the Gas and Joey....would be a shame if they lost. ?
  16. Still 9 days until the fixture, that is very good ticket sales for a team that haven't won at home since Jesus was on the cross! Crowds are down all over the country, although I disagree it will take a while to hit low 20s, I think there will be 21,000 ish for the Bournemouth match.
  17. Glen Humphries with a blade near a shower.
  18. 'He's gay, he's bent, he's ass is up for rent, he's Holloway, he's Holloway *' * = or whoever the hate figure was at the time. Homophobia was rife in football grounds in the past, another was 'you bent b*stard, you bent b*stard' sung repeatedly to anyone with a perm, tan, or in anyway cared for their appearance ?
  19. It will be all about Barton's management, if he gets willing runners around Pitman and players to provide the service then Brett will deliver. If he expects Pitman to put in a shift or do it for himself up front, it will end in tears.
