Dear Mr Barton I am very sorry to inform you that Bristol Rovers have not averaged gates of over 10000 for 40 years. If you have been misled, that is because they are liars. P.s if they tell you a number that they took to Wembley, it is good practice to knock 15000 off that number.

I'm getting sensitive about anybody trying to suggest we are anywhere near to being as bad as them. Could you imagine what the Rovers fans would be like if they were above us for 20 seasons (or even 20 mins ?), trust me there wouldn't be any comments like Bristol football is embarrassing or we're both lower league clubs, they would absolutely revel in it.

Not trying to be pedantic, but Rovers have not spent many seasons in their history in the 4th tier. Rovers average placing is middle of the third tier. City's average placing is bottom third of the second tier.

Hate these type of statements/reactions as it plays into the Gas hands. Lumps City (1 point off 7th in the championship) in the same boat as Rovers (heading for the fourth tier). 20 years since they've been above is in the league, don't mention them in the same breath as us.

On a different note, I listened to some of Radio Bristol's Gas programme on the way home from work, priceless comedy. The Director of football was claiming that 4 left backs and no strikers is not poor recruitment. He went on to point out that two of the left backs can actually play left wing back! He also criticised Tisdale for saying the squad was unbalanced. That seems like a marriage made in heaven..not.

I was at secondary school in then fairly solid blue Hanham (thankfully no longer the case) from 86-91 and it was hellish. The Gary Smart winner was a particular low point. We battered them and then he hits a wonder goal out of nothing. It really was a painful period and even promotion to the second tier came after being thrashed at Trumpton and second to them. I never moan nowadays, after going through that spell and the 4th division years, to be second tier and light years ahead of the gas for over 20 years is pure heaven to me.

I think the top teams (3 or 4) are spending a fortune now compared with a few seasons ago. There could be a danger of the WSL becoming like the Scots Premier, where there are some big thrashings as the budgets are hugely different from the top and bottom of the league.

Sorry missed your question last week, I can't really say, but sadly it has played out like that. Schools will close on Friday 20th March and then life in Britain will look radically different for everyone. Sport, Glastonbury etc will not happen.

I'd imagine it would be relatively easy for the EFL to stream all games on the Internet. The problem might be the money that SKY have paid to screen Championship matches exclusively.

I have to be very careful what I say, but I will say that there are a sizeable number of suspected cases in Bristol who are self isolating. The majority of those are people who have been in countries such as Italy, Thailand and China and are now showing symptoms. The message from the authorities to people in positions of power is to suppress as much as possible to prevent panic. One thing is certain, sport will be hit very hard. However, when it is sport v health it is a no brainer. I hope a deal can be done to give fans the chance to watch all behind clothes doors events on tv.
