Any reason why the OP never chose 15 games?

What were the 3 games before those 12, I just had a look.....  Watford - won, Hull - won, Sunderland - won, so add those 9 points and where would we be?

As much as I am certainly not convinced by what has happened, and probably agree that it actually seems we have regressed, it does show that plenty on here will choose what to present to suit their own stance (both sides too).

12 is a valid subsection of games to look at because of the three preceding matches.  We were on a decent run of form and had the opportunity to capitalise on that and push on.  instead he sent us up to Birmingham to defend and since that time instead of capitalising we've capitulated.

I am getting a bit sick of every interview he dose saying he did everything right but the players let him down by making mistakes, not following the plan, showing to much emotion

He really needs to start taking some ownership for the problems we are suffering from at the moment

I've said it before, coaches win the matches, players lose them in the world of Liam Manning.

We've picked up 9 points from our last 12 league matches, scoring only 11 goals.  He's averaging a point a game since taking over, having lost over half of the matches he's been in charge for.  It's been declining for months and is only going one way.  His win percentage is 28%. To provide some context here, Holden's was 44%!

Manning actually said in the pre-match interview that he was carrying a knock

Why he didn’t make the change when Burns come on and tore Pring a new one - I just don’t know

I missed that....And we had substitution windows open to us as well! ffs🤦‍♂️

I thought we did entertain tonight. I was there, although bitterly disappointed I was certainly entertained particularly in the 2nd half after easily containing Ipswich before ht.

But it's an atypical performance.  Our best performances tend to be in this type of game where we're almost on a hiding to nothing.  The typical performance and set up is not what was seen tonight for much of the game from what I hear (was out for a birthday meal, so only saw the last 20).  I'm basing my views on his tenure rather than one match I didn't really see.  From what I did see, however, he once again showed a massive naivety in terms of game management.  Cam didn't look fit and was being torn apart by Burns.  We had two throw-ins about 10 yards inside their half in injury time when we should be full throttle trying to salvage something and within seconds it's down by our touchline.

It's the lansdowns and tinion that need to go surely now even the happiest if clapping fans can see this how anyone can blame any of this on manning is mind numbing!

Then what ? Bring somone else in only for them to fail under the current regime. Right okay

Look, I'm sorry Liam, but this tactic won't work(much like many of your other ones!).

Yes, a large part of the blame lies further up the chain, but this doesn't change the fact the team are repeatedly given tactics that simply don't work and don't entertain. Being angry with the board doesn't absolve Captain Mainwaring from blame as well.

No signs at all? To start with we kept the ball more which I think was overdue if we were going to progress as a team. Watford away, West Ham, Forest away. Then the Southampton game, 4 games ago, was the best performance by a City team I’ve seen in a good while, regardless of how we played tactically and similarities to NPs. Certainly the most convincing performance against an ex Prem team given our record has been appalling against them in recent times.

Look last few games are concerning, I’m not glossing over the big issues we have. I just don’t think it’s been nothing but decline since he took over 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Yes...no signs at all.  I honestly don't think  "regardless of how we played tactically and similarities to NPs" holds any weight in the argument as they are atypical set ups to how Manning wants to play.  They are the outliers and in spite of those being our best performances of the season he doesn't keep the system that produced them.  So no, I don't see those as progress to be honest.  Progress would be sending out the team to play that way every week as it shows that he knows how to play to the strengths of the players involved.  As it is, he doesn't seem to want that.

Think you can add the fans to that, never known such a quiet tame atmosphere for a derby game, or perhaps blame the players performance, where were the blood and thunder tackles, maybe its  a chicken and egg question, do the players need to get the fans going or do the fans help to get the players going, either way its on a downward spiral, but easy to sit back and blame everyone else

It's difficult to create an atmosphere when you're asleep......

Whilst I can't imagine not wanting to miss out on a pay out, do you think Manning is the sort of person to walk?

He clearly develops no loyalty with his employers based on his previous roles so I do wonder if he might think "sod this for a lark!" given the backlash he's having. I'm not sure how it ended for him at MK but I don't get the impression, based on his post match interviews of late, he's experienced booing of the like we've seen.

If you look at it from his perspective he may well think that this isn't what he signed up for. Like when you start a new job yourself and work out early on its not going to be for you.

He's got a 3.5 year contract on the highest salary he's ever had - and on this showing is ever likely to have....there is absolutely no chance of him walking.

My stream kept buffering so much it was unwatchable. One massive positive.

I kept thinking my stream was buffering too.

But then I realised that I was sat inside the ground and that's just the speed at which Manning likes the ball to be moved around.

That’s true but the ground is never as full as the number of ST sold.

We have skewed these figures by the cheap additional ST for a kid but they make little impact on our cash flow.

If I was in charge of marketing I’d be very interested in the number of full price ST we sell & if that falls then I’d be concerned.

Logic would dictate that if the full price ST number were to fall, then the kids number would also fall. I don't agree with the concept that these figures are skewed by the cheaper tickets as that's securing full priced STH's of the future, so is vitally important.

It was slightly biarre Spud because what he actually said was that it was their (coaching staff) work with the players that got them (the players) into the final third and then it is for players to show bravery and ingenuity etc at that point

So taking credit for the ability (depending on your view whether that’s accurate) to play through the thirds but distancing himself from the ability to create chances and score goals

His ethos does seem to be that the coaching staff win games but the players lose them.

What I thought was noticeable today was the number of players sniping at each other. It's abundantly clear that the dressing room harmony that it seemed we had is well and truly gone.

For me, this is an opportunity to see whether the players we intend keeping are good enough.

Do we agree we are most likely losing King, James, Wells, ( obviously Weimann ) maybe Williams, and most likely Twine won't be here next season.

So as much as I'd want them to play, what's the point in playing them? They have nothing to play for...they won't be judged on their ability in these last games.

Put out a team that will be here next season. Play them how you want them to play. If they don't succeed, you will know they aren't good enough, and that you still need experience and older heads to lead.

We have nothing to play for...what will Manning learn from playing players that he has no intention of using next season.

I'm glad you're convinced of that.  As I see it right now, we're a team that struggles to create and are easy to counter.  It's very easy to feel safe when in actual fact the floor is creaking below you.  Many more performances like the majority of matches since he took over and we find ourselves in a relegation battle with momentum heading the wrong way.

This is wholly untrue.  I asked a gashead mate whether there was any truth to the incest rumours and he categorically denied it.  He should know too as apparently his uncle dad is pretty tuned in.

Yeah, we've already got threads dissecting his opinions. He's perfectly entitled to say what he wants

Utterly pointless referencing someone who I know for a fact doesn't post on or read OTIB

Wouldn't that kinda include players and management?  We discuss them, so why not people putting themselves forward to offer a very public opinion?

I haven’t read the whole of this thread so this has probably already been mentioned, but one of the problems is the cumbersome system for transferring a ticket. Every now and then my daughter can’t make games. In the past I’d give my daughter’s season card to my step-daughter to use, but now with it being a pain in the backside to transfer the ticket the seat is just left empty instead.

I had to do this for the Southampton match as I was away with work. It was a quick call to supporters services and I had the tickets emailed to me to forward on within 5 mins. It was really very easy to do!

So they failed to sign JCR, took on a couple of loan players in January and have posted an open letter of intent that will keep the Fewers happy for a few months before putting up the cost of season tickets.

I wonder how long it'll be until one of them get banned from Gaschat for suggesting that the new majority owners might not be the solution they've been looking for.

I know they're desperate to fund the BCFC Retirement Home, but trying to sign 40 year old Jamal Campbell-Ryce is surely going a step too far!

As expected, following the announcement that said nothing but placated idiots, they’ve launched their STs for next season.

Worth comparing the price of their South Stand with ours, and also note that they charge more to watch from the sides than a Dolman wings ticket costs….

Penalty should never have been a card either. Penalty was enough. Player came from behind so was no intention. Ref was terrible but fortunately, he could stop us playing the way we did

I don't think Cornick was booked for the pen.  On Sky they seemed to think it was Williams for his protests that was booked.

As for appealing bookings, this can only be done in the case of mistaken identity....I mean the ref did mistakenly identify Zak as someone who made any sort of contact with a player, but no, it can't be appealed on the basis of the refs incompetence.

I think I'm right in thinking that the FA could decide to rescind the card without appeal if they decide they want to punish him for diving, but it's unlikely that would happen for an incident outside of the box.  Shite position to hold, but there you go.

  19. But...but...but.... you can't keep him and Williams.  The two just cannot be on the pitch at the same time....  according to some!

And those "some" should just re-watch last night back and if they still believe it, then they should give up watching football altogether..
