Stokes/Buttler would be younger than Morgan was last year, Archer would still be in his 20's...... and Wood will only be playing limited overs cricket you'd think so hopefully can extend his career
Sorry the way I worded it wasn’t clear, I meant if they were to split the teams I imagine the players I mentioned would be in the test squad as there’s no need to focus on the ODIs with the World Cup being in 2023. The Test Championship would be more important. The ODI side could be made up of the specialists in that format and younger players with a view to the World Cup.

So apparently Morgan's idea of potentially playing white ball/red ball games on the same days wasn't an April fools? Who would you pick if you had to pick separate squads?
Test: ODI:
- Burns Roy
- Sibley Banton
- Crawley Ali
- Root Morgan
- Bairstow (wk) Stokes
- Pope Buttler
- Woakes Gregory
- Bess Tom Curran
- Leach/S.Curran Archer
- Broad Wood/Pat Brown
- Anderson Rashid
Next ODI World Cup is in 2023 so can’t see why Stokes, Archer, Buttler and Wood would be in the ODI team.

Review that SA...
What a joke. If they didn’t lose the review because of ultra edge not working the umpires should have made it clear to everyone before the next ball was bowled. Plus if Bavuma had hit it I’m sure he would have called for the review immediately.

Great win. Conditions sounded terrible and we weren't at our best but we still managed to grind out a win. Previous city teams wouldn't have achieved that.

Perhaps me might have to consider going 4 at the back to tighten up.

Just a quick question, we obviously played better than PV tonight but I was wondering how we played in terms of style? I just read a Port Vale fan calling us a "bunch of hoofball merchants" and having not been at the game I was wondering if this is just sour grapes or an accurate summary of our performance?
Ignore that fan. How on earth he can call us hoof ball merchants I'll never know. Vale's entire game plan was based on aimless punts up to their two forwards and trying to win set pieces which they could then hoof into the box. They practically made us look like Brazil.

Stockhausen is saying that it's a 4-3-3

What makes you think he'll play all 3?
One's captain, the other is our standout player, and I can't imagine Barnett will come here to sit on the bench if he's getting game time at Peterborough or has options elsewhere. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but based on the team Cotterill played in his first game at Tamworth (Taylor starting) it may be that he wants to play two up front but wasn't confident in Taylor's ability so had to drop that until he could bring someone else in.

Type of signing we need, with JET drifting we do struggle to hold the ball upfront. Question is how will Cotterill fit Barnett in with JET and Baldock? Could play JET where Reid has been playing but I feel that would be unfair on Bobby who has been great this season.

Pleased with the lineup!
