You may need to change your strap line to ‘I only believe it when I read it on the OS (and provided I have not misread it).’ 😃

Seriously though it’s a shame you thought that and perhaps City comms could have been clearer, ie hammer home it was free.

the lady who sits next to me thought you had to purchase a ticket as well, so perhaps it was their comms

It was Downsy's constant talk of a 'celebration' that prompted myself and the people I was with to leave almost straight away when it became clear the players weren't going to do their usual appreciation of the fans after the final whistle, which I stay for every match to show my appreciation for their efforts (win or lose), and instead went straight down the tunnel to prepare themselves for the big emotional walk around with the fans thanking them for giving us another mediocre season.

I'm not anti anyone at the club, had no massive issue with Pearson going (timing aside) and quite like us under Manning, but to big this season up as something special just stinks to me.

We heard the awards being announced as we were walking down the back of the Lansdown.

I find Downsy incredibly irritating more and more each game.

I don’t think the club realises how annoying continual chat over the tannoy really is. Too much, and people switch off

Yeah multiple factors could change between now and then. And ultimately even if they spunked £20m on the squad in the summer, I think threads like this show the damage is pretty much done.

People didn’t have an issue with the sacking (although they may have disagreed with the decision, that will always happen), it’s more how it was done - and most pertinently, the communications thereafter. Contrition now is too little, too late and although we may get success in the future, the wound in the damage they did with the fanbase is just too deep to recover.

2024? That would just reinforce it!

    * I had an issue with the sacking but that's irrelevant in this discussion.

To bring us closer to some sort of closure, I think Steve Lansdown should, and could easily, front up when the season's over, and just apologise for poor messaging around the Pearson sacking. That needs to be followed by a glowing appraisal of the work Pearson did (and best wishes to him).

That mea culpa and act of gratitude would make a world of difference to the relationship with the fans.

But unfortunately, I don't think many ludicrously wealthy people feel they have to apologise for anything, or accept other people's best interests. At least not this one.

Literally all we need is a couple of minutes of grace and selflessness, and then we can draw a line under it.

I get the sentiment but I think it's too late for that.

Changes were purely done as a result of the high numbers buying seats and not using them, the only way to do that was to move the family seats

    Not 2+2=5 here

My personal opinion is that in a years time they will be back on sale as normal again

I suppose it depends how many families have moved to the L?

The focus is on the South Stand. They are hopping that the following works:

    1. Higher % price increase in the SS v other stands (to discourage purchase if not going to use it).

    2. Even higher price increase for kids in the SS to discourage unused kids’ tickets there (can move to cheaper family stand).

    3. No new season tickets in SS.

    4. All of the above to free up tickets for POTD fans.

Time will tell if that will work. Plus if the TV deal moves a lot of kick off times around, there may be more season tickets holders who can’t attend which may negate some of the above.

are they trying to drive STHs out in anticipation of installing rail seating in the near future?

We are gonna have to see aren’t we?

Would be good to know how many ST sold in SS for 23/24 season, versus for next season (24/25), and how many POTD that leaves.

Not that I’m in conversations with many fans, let alone SS ST holders with kids, but I haven’t seen much “traffic” on OTIB saying - I’ve relocated to the Lansdown family area. That’s not to say they haven’t, but I do wonder whether the thought of never getting a ST back in the SS might’ve persuaded some to suck up the price increases.

Out of interest, does anyone know the capacity of SS and how many ST holders there were last season?

To be honest that was a factor in renewing. I have to suck up the loss of attending because of 'SKY weekends' and have also lost a lot of interest in the club since October, so we will see how it goes. Hopefully I might feel better about it come August…

Yes an agenda for the club to be the best it possibly can.

    Sorry for wanting that.

I don't think Manning is the right fit for this club, I may be proved wrong, I may be proved right. Who knows. The day I stop caring about what is best for this club is the day I die. I'm sorry that you can't seem to grasp that very simple concept.

JL and BT will do their best to make him fit…

Putting up prices for kids tickets?

yes but why not let new Sts?

Don't the club have to keep a certain number of tickets back for pay on the day anyway?

Let's say we have 22000 seats available for home fans, we'd probably be looking to max out at 18k season tickets and then leave the rest for general sale.

The issue with the south stand was the number of unused season tickets. From what I heard, despite being sold out it was at around 60% capacity on average, the club had to do something. Season tickets are still of huge importance for a club like ourselves, can't see there coming a time in the near future where we won't have them

I don't really understand how they've rectified that by not allowing new Sts?

Nothing about not liking different opinions and know lots don't always agree with what I say and thats fine as we are city supporters from all walks of life and experiences, why I don't like your posts generally is you look to make everything a negative for the sake of it, as for scrolling by, you often face palm my posts for no reason, so perhaps need to practice what you preach

But back to the thread - you have been one of the most vocal about not going to renew, in fact it was that bad you were not even going to attend the last 3 games, but now you have changed to I would have renewed, but for some reason I moved from the SS during the season to the Lansdown which is more expensive and as you cant now go back to the cheaper SS, so you will not renew for that reason. So the football recentley most of won you over as you now would have renewed if it was cheaper.🤣

    There is the ignore button?

In your words, Let me make this very simple for you.

You have been one of the most negative boring posters on here, who have been shouting about had bad things have been consistantly since Nige was sacked, you were very vocal about how you will not be attending the last games this season as its so bad and will not be buying a season ticket, now its I would have bought one but can't as its not worth the money (never said that was the reason before)

As for trolling, unfortunately you keep posting sh1t which comes up on the forum, so feel the need to respond, I generally feel sad when a supporter says they are not going any more, but I was happy to make the exception in your case as the forum will be so much better without your posts

He can still attend without a ST

Well yeah, my thinking was flowing from there. Scott stays, happier NP, happier club- suddenly we are truly built for a 4-3-3..Scott  creating, carrying- best base around him yet. Everything (his fitness permitting) couldve panned out a bit differently.

I think Nige was doomed before then, irrespective of whether AS stayed or not.

I was thinking less from a financial angle and more whether one more year in a side that had a more solid base year ln year could absolutely have honed his game, maybe some more goals from midfield as he was looking potent pre season and then go with all boxes ticked, perhaps carrying us to more serious top 6 contention current bolstering his reputation.

Perhaps if they hadn't sacked Nige. I don't expect he has any regrets not staying after this season's fiasco. He seems to done well at Bournemouth

When all the truth comes out about Nigel Pearson's departure, the final story might not be quite the Disney film that some people are expecting, full of heroes and villains. Maybe, just maybe, Jon Lansdown is not a bumbling buffoon, perhaps Brian Tinnion is not actually an evil schemer and, possibly, Nigel isn't the ideal employee everyone would want to have working for them.

    sounds like Scooby Doo.

If it wasn't for those pesky kids…
