And at the risk of going over old ground, this is why they probably won’t ever be forgiven. I’ve used the phrase “wilful sabotage” a few times and it was - Nige had his legs cut off in the summer recruitment.
Even if he’d been able to replace Scott with who we eventually did (short term) with Twine, then we wouldn’t be miles off. A side of O’Leary-Tanner-Vyner-Dickie-Pring-James-Knight-Sykes-Bell-Twine-Conway may not be top six but it would be competitive top ten. The lack of the playmaker killed us.
Liam coming in, irrespective of what the board said, was never going to be able to improve on how Nige was doing as he didn’t have the squad (note - not his players but the squad). It was a shit comms.
What I don’t think the board expected was the regression we’ve seen from Liam misusing the resources he had - certainly up until Easter, which has been alarming. And that’s where the doubts lay, not in not getting top six.
But, make no mistake. Had they replaced Scott, even ponying up 1/5 of the fee, we’d likely be higher up the table.
But that would also have meant Nige still being in a job. And getting rid of him was more important than the clubs success this season.
Bottom Line.
Why was it so important?

Bayern Munich 1985-90. Just has to be with the adidas three stripes and originals logo IMO. Our red though, I think theirs is darker.
Home: red with white stripes
Away: white with red stripes
Third: Purple with lime stripes
Something like this:
yes that looks cool. Simple, means business

You might not have liked the design of the previous home shirt. But the quality, fit, finish and colours of the Hummel shirts were a world apart from the utter crap Oneil are producing for us - and we’re still being charged the same price.
The sooner we bin off this market stall standard crap the better. We look so amateur.
The quality really showed when we played Leeds. Our shorts looked dirty grey and flimsy compared to theirs.
I really liked the style and quality of the Hummel kit

Injuries.
Not helped by the alleged misdiagnosis he recieved by our medical team, only picked up by Bournemouth at his medical.
Nearly cost the club our largest ever transfer fee, but no biggie.
did it cost DR his job?

I hope we'll get a new supplier soon. I really don't like O'Neills, looks cheap and nasty.

And what is wrong with that statement exactly? I know what I would do if it was my money too - I'd do as I see fit
yet they want us to stump up our hard earned cash for tickets and merchandise each season.
I suppose, he can't blame us for any of the shitstorms of the last few seasons though. It's his club and it's all on him.

He had us moving in the right direction. Even if he didn’t get there himself, this summer should’ve been (imho):
- Should he get another crack (did he want another crack?) - because I think the signs were that we weren’t far away, or
- Should we push on with the successor, with Nige playing a key role (like had on the football strategy) in deciding who that should be
I can't believe they were so short-sighted / narrow-minded / petty / pathetic.

Can't agree with that bit in particular. He wasn't able to build anything for two and a bit seasons because our FFFP position was savage. Nige and Richard Gould not only ensured our wage bill was drastically slashed (it had to be to avoid points deductions) but also ensured we stayed in the Championship too. If you believe the last 12 months or so of his appointment didn't see fast enough progression for your liking that's a different argument altogether, and a valid one (that I disagree with!!) but to say he had 3 years to build a side is a plain misrepresentation of what actually happened, not opinion at all.
I felt that this would be the season to kick on with Nige and co.
*We also lost Nathan Baker during his reign.

Has 2 wins in 2 changed anyone's mind and led to early renewal? What are you hoping to see in the last 6 games?
(Not trying to start a fight - genuinely interested! I'm not an ST holder, don't live in Bristol so try and go away more than home. Respect the decision to delay renewal to make a point - a point that needs making!)
no. I'll wait to the last minute (22nd April, deadline is 23rd) before renewing, if I do. I'm not convinced by any of it.

We all know the sacking was very harsh but this time it really, really pissed off the most prolific & respected contributors on here.
Just like social media influencing that sentiment spreads & keeps being reinforced by a wider community.
Credit to Manning coming into that maelstrom created for him & digging his way through it.
I would have preferred NP saw out the contract & left with dignity but change was made & it would be odd to not give Manning next season to see the project through.
Its rare an L1 player hits the ground running in 1st season in championship so why are we expecting the same from a L1 coach?
The club were at the time of his employment.

Finding it difficult to join in this love-in for Alex Scott, sorry if that sounds harsh but to me it's like wishing your ex-wife well after she has left you for a bloke uglier than you who had a few bob, whilst you had to carry on working in Aldi.
I think of it more like the prodigal relative whose progress you take an interest in.
I’m sad to see them go but totally understand why they needed to move onwards.- 2

Apparently no.44 shirt now withdrawn. Hardly surprising given the Nazi overtones. All they have to do is redesign the numbers.

I’d imagine that would be a nightmare for anyone who is colour blind, particularly red v green. As theirs is dark green then I assume black might be difficult to?
Possibly

why not play in black or home kit? Seems silly for there to be lots of green
