  1. No, you misunderstand. I'm genuinely interested if his return to fitness makes him a faster runner or is he a great target man with a knack for hitting the onion bag. Either way = good. Last time I saw him was on Boxing Day and I defy anyone who watched that game to say he wasn't very slow in it. Thing is, he still scored then and - I thought - tried hard throughout.
  2. ...... awful-ly prolific in front of goal. To be fair to MRR he was commenting on what he'd seen against YTFC and in Smith's earlier sub appearances, when he'd obviously been played before he was match fit. I never said he was awful but I did say he was very slow in those games. Has he speeded up significantly - or are the Gills capable by being beaten by a team playing Walking Football? Probably the later, if they are wearing red shirts and have got off a coach from Bristol. Answers only from those at the game please, although if someone can score this many, who cares how!
  3. Well, I imagine we missed Bryan's runs and crosses, when Wade goes off our mf creativity plummets, and as we've seen already this season, we struggle with 10 men. If we had to lose someone, I am thinking Williams would be my preferred candidate: he's been below par for weeks. Now hopefully everyone gets fit and we get Osbourne back in the team for Yeovil. Incidentally, I don't know anyone who thinks we don't need to strengthen in January. Our first choice XI is great, but there's no depth in squad and our second string players have shown from their cameos and cup games that they just aren't good enough to provide the cover we need if we're to go up automatically.
  4. Managed to set up most of their chances too, by consistently losing the ball. Today was the laziest, most lackadaisical performance I've ever seen from Jay. Let loose balls just go by him, zero movement off the ball, no anticipation, no tackles, consistently drifted out to a wide right position, duplicating where Waggy was covering . For all his goal threat he might as well have been sat in the Dolman. I think his sum contribution was two good passes. Cotterill obviously thought so too, which is why he was the first to go off
  5. Fringe players: Kane. - Very good. Did everything required of him. Not sure we'll see him again, if that's a dislocated shoulder. Waggy - worked hard. Had his moments. Cunningham - not awful, but nothing that makes you think he should start. JET - your taxi is due in January, Mr Emmanuel-Thomas.
  6. Haha. Must be something about Oz. I know a guy whose shop in the Gold Coast was broken into and takings stolen. He sells alarm systems.
  7. Bad for the hapless journo who had to unexpectedly "fill" for an hour Slarti ;-)
  8. To be fair, it might not be RB'S fault. A company called RedBee provide the live feeds and if they screw up there's nothing 20man or whoever can do. RB will be as furious as the rest of us. Happened once a few years back and they cut off the end of a Somerset cricket match commentary.
  9. Just call me Mystic Robbo... Just sad that family stuff meant I had to miss such a humdinger.
  10. Remember those two terrible winters we had once? Mike and Bernie.
  11. I tried wafting air around the room by waving my arms about. It was ineffective and uncomfortable. As you can tell, I'm not a fan.

You are quite right, but so is Aizoon when he makes the point that support for the NSDAP was at its highest in Catholic areas of Germany. And let's not forget the informal Catholic clerical network which helped smuggle wanted war criminals to South America. The 1930s and 40s were a very polarised time and for the Catholic hierarchy Fascism, which allowed a degree of religious freedom was infinitely preferable to Atheistic Communism. I think the Church needs to come to terms with its rather cosy Co-existence with fascism - particularly in Italy - during the War.

It's the taking off the menu of pork products that people object to. Why should non-Muslims (and non-observant muslims) have their menu shrunk because they happen to live in an area where there is a high Pakistani origin population. I'm sure there's no rule that means muslims can't just select the non-pork products from a full menu - so why restrict the choice for the rest ? There's nothing to stop Subway franchisees doing that, but equally there's nothing to stop the rest of us going 'F you Subway, you're not getting my custom any more'.

I don't think they kill an individual pig just to make a ham sarnie out of it. What you should have written is "you and about 1500 other people are responsible". ;-)
