  1. I doubt it's a category 3 offence. More like a 2, down to the level of injury. Even within thise categories you have A,B & C levels.
  2. Whilst i agree @TomF that the max sentence for a S47 ABH is up to 5 years; you need to realise that Barton has already had custodial sentences for like offences. With that in mind, the non-custodial options open to the sentencing judge will be somewhat limited. Any sentence under 2 years can be suspended, and that is of course what his defence counsel would push for in the event of a jury verdict. The amount of bad character against him, will play a big part; if it is his case that it was self defence. Jury selection will be interesting. No doubt, anybody who has heard of barton will be excluded via a questionaire completed at the start of the selection process.
  3. Strange one isn't he? That goal against Millwall in the cup, i thought "wow he has the ability to do that". Plus the 5/6 assists that he got in the first half of the season. I didn't rate him at all, based on the evidence of the 19/20 season. But i thought i would have to reevaluate my thinking around him. However, second half of the season (like everyone else), his overall performances were not of the same standard. His two league goals consist of 2 x chasing down the keeper, and the ball coming off his ass. He's not a natural goalscorer, in the way that Conway and Britton have demonstrated for the under 23s, and first team. In that case, what sort of player is he? In the current climate £4-5m affords us the capability to get 3/4 other players in to help with the rebuild. I have no problem with him going for that figure. But a lot will depend on how we replace him. That will be the indication of whether we've learned from our previous mistakes; and that the new processes/talent id process is working in the way we hope it will.
  4. Well as a Houston fan of many a year from my time living there in the 80's; we are one screwed up franchise. Yet again without a 1st round pick; and with a star quarterback who wants out. With JJ Watt gone as well, it looks like an asset stripping exercise in order to get some picks together; and start the rebuild. That all sounds a bit too familiar at the moment.?.
  5. @Mr Popodopolous I've tried to find other Championship clubs 2019-20 results. Only a few clubs seem to have posted them so far. Are we one of the few clubs that stick to the rule in this regard (posting results on time)? Difficult to see where we are financially against our peers; when everything is based on 2018-19 results. As others have said, some still haven't posted 18-19 figures; and there seems to be no comeback from auditors/EFL over that. At least we've been up front with our position.
  6. It's like a miniature version of what the Glazer's did at Man Utd, isn't it? That's obviously the way that the Americans approach all of these leveraged buyouts. Probably a very clever way of making money, when not actually investing any of your own.
  7. How does the womans game work with regard to budgets etc? We've done well to keep going in the Super League for the last few years; and unlike Yeovil or Notts County we of course wont go bust. But what is the goal or objective? Any decent player we get; only stays for a year or so; Lucy Graham being a good recent example. Whilst being glad we have a woman's team. I wonder what the plan is for the next 5 years is with the team? We seem to be naturally drifting downwards; in lieu of the top flight teams finally getting their act together.
  8. @Owl Visiting I've been really impressed with your team this season. You seem to have beaten the inconsistency that dogged you last season, with in essence the same team. Certainly dark horses now for the play offs. If not the top 2.
  9. This is just bizarre from Wael. I work on Feeder Road, and can tell you now, that there is no way planning permission for a stadium at the fruit market would get approved. There is only one way in to the site, and its surrounded by numerous large businesses mainly dealing in recycling. From an environmental/health and safety point of view, it's a complete non-starter. If you also look at plans for that whole area, there are already advanced undertakings from numerous other interested parties for housing, and other developments. This man is just a complete fantacist. What a way to run a football club.
  10. First time posting on this thread, but after looking at their latest financial results, what a shambles Rovers are in. Their stadium isn't really fit for purpose anymore. With no new stadium any time soon in the horizon. They have no training ground, and no real academy of note to bring young players though into the first team. They are losing money hand over fist(like most clubs to be fair). But their owner has only committed to them for another year. How can they plan anything financial, budget wise when that's the case. They have no real players of note or value in their team. I know clarke Harris finished the season well. But hes failed at his last four clubs beforehand. He'll either go at the first sizable bid they get, or dwindle off into the sunset sometime soon. They honestly have no other saleable assets at all. Where are all thwir young players of yesteryear? They also appear to have no business model, or any idea at all how to get themselves out if this mess. They are slowly but surely drifting downwards and downwards; like a rudderless ship. I can't fathom where they are going or how next season is going to pan out for them. All the Players they wanted to stay and have offered new contracts to, have turned them down. I'm getting depressed just writing this. Thank God, we have the club that we have. That's all I can say.
  11. Christ reg. I know we're getting old. But how large donyiu want the text?????
  12. On bus home from the game. I would have taken point at the start of the game, so it too disappointed. What a difference Smith made when he came on though, not least from an organisational point of view. I think it's fair to say playing brownhlll,O'Dowda,Ellison, and Patterson was an experiment that didn't really work. Plus points- New keeper did ok. Hunt was an upgrade at rb. Eliasons deliveries in the first half were excellent. I also thought pack had a good game. Minuses- Bryan carrying on his form from the end of last season. He seemed not really with it today. Webster bringing the ball out of defence. Looked like an accident waiting to happen. Plus he ducked out of a few challenges today. Brownhill and pack in the centre just does work. Brownhill looked a lot better when shifted to the right. Patterson- not sure what was going on today with him. Have the ball away badly when they hit the post. O'Dowda/eliason - you can play one or the either, not both. Defensively hunt was massively exposed in the first half. By having Eliason playing in front of him. One thing is for sure. Although forest have invested in some interesting players; they are no way a Wolves for this season. Nervous at the back; and lacking a bit in the middle of the park.
