  1. Has he still got anything to do with the club?
  2. Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but this is a lovely interview with Colin. He talks about how he lives Bristol and used to come to visit his daughter at Uni here in disguise. Lots of memories about the banter with our fans going back to Palace play off semi final Loves Bristol - not lives - soz
  3. I did have a nasty thought last night, what with all the positive publicity around the impact Nige is having, that some cr@ppy struggling Prem outfit might try to tempt him away. Hopefully his experience at Watford will put him off, but you can see why he must be of interest to bigger, struggling clubs.
  4. interesting to see if Nige bring on Nakhi or Cornick - definitely need something else in the box
  5. This reminds me of a newspaper article I saw a few years ago, called something like should men over 50 be allowed to wear blue jeans?
  6. Say what you like about Stevie Lansdown, but at least he never appointed Colin!
  7. Pleased to see Chris Martin score for his new club yesterday. Thought he was a real trooper for us in difficult times - always gave his all. Was definitely time to move him on, but the QPR fans were very disrespectful and he's showed them what he's capable of. Watching the highlights of the game - they lost to Millwall - QPR remind me of how we were not so long ago - terrible lack of concentration leading to conceding soft goals.
  8. It wasn't a pen. Even Naismith said so on Robins TV
  9. i reckon Nakhi would have scored that one one one with the keeper too. Not dissing Cornick - he hasn't had a chance to settle in yet - but that was a really chance
  10. What on earth were you doing at Eastville???? Strictly only for greyhounds!
  11. I agree he talks very good sense but, boy, does his voice sound boring!
  12. I love this story about Brian Clough and Vinny Jones - "Now play your F**cking music, Wimbledon"
  13. Anyone know what the Japanese fans are singing? It's quite impressive.
  14. Really negative. No interest in anything but defending. Seems like they're playing for a draw already. Very risky strategy. Argentina could easily be two up if they'd taken the chances.
  15. I was listening to Hornets TV commentary - very pro-Watford. They noted how difficult Watford were finding it to cope with our shape - particularly the numbers in midfield. Nige deserves a lot of credit for getting the tactics right today. They didn't really threaten. And Tommy would have taken that chance on another day. Fair play to the lads.
  16. Reading this makes me wonder about who are the real leaders amongst the players? Our captain is on the bench. Weimann can lead by example in terms of passion but he's been out of sorts lately. James is a calming influence and we fall apart without him but not exactly a "lead them over the trenches" type leader. Naismith is a strong presence but is too wayward. Conway has the qualities but is inexperienced. And so on ... I think lack of leaders the pitch is our downfall
  17. I listened to the podcast for the first time just now and I really enjoyed it. Didn't agree with all the points but that's football. Speaking as someone who can't get out as much as I used to, I want to say how much I appreciate it.
  18. Interesting idea. I didn't go last night and haven't seen the highlights, but reading about the game on here, it seems another example of Pearson not being able to inspire or motivate the team into higher levels of performance. He rates himself as a man manager but I'm beginning to question that. I've always assumed his dour demeanour is just his "TV face" and sort of respected that. But the more I think about it, the less I can imagine him being able to lift the team spirit before a game or at half time. Look at the passion you see from really successful managers and compare that to NP. It seems the players don't want to prove anything or impress anybody, they don't seem to care what he thinks or whether he'll drop them.
  19. Do we think Han THE Man will be snapped up in the January window - and if so, for how much?!!
  20. he looked dynamite when he first came back from injury but he's been a bit quiet recently and so I tend to agree with you - however, we'd have to replace him immediately with someone better because we ain't exactly scoring goals for fun at the minute so we'd have to replace him.
  21. If we can keep this squad in tact and fit for the rest of the season, I'm confident results will come. Problem is we keep losing key players to injury and our squad is small to start with. And Scott put on a good show for the Sky cameras yesterday. And Semenyo might shine in Qatar. Oh god, I'm not confident at all!
  22. we could easily be 1-0 up. they have not threatened at all James and Scott controlling the midfield.
