Really interesting to hear him being so open and honest in his assessment of our strengths and weaknesses. I like his description of mental aggression in terms of competition for a place in the team. He says our strikers have been feeding off scraps and with attacking wing backs and our superior pace we should be a good counterattacking team and creating many more scoring opportunities. Says we aren't good enough keeping possession so we need to be good on the counter.

Does anyone remember a game down the Gate when a whole load of cars drove around the side of the pitch? It must have been some kind of advertising? I remember people singing DIcks Out while they were on the way round. Or maybe it was just a dream - I was only a kid at the time

Agree! I was convinced that we'd concede when Williams went off - he's such a positive influence on our game. But we didn't collapse and Baki does get a lot of credit for that. HNM was a powerhouse - really got stuck in - albeit a bit too hard at times and needs a bit more refinement!

Much better effort , showed a lot of commitment. Stats still not great, lost possession too often and passing not accurate but I liked his energy and he looked up for it.

Agree they were both brilliant but as the Stoke manager just pointed out, Scott was a bit lucky not to get a red card for that tackle. That said Allen should have got a red instead of the first yellow so guess its even stevens

Thought we did game management really well tonight. Nine flipping minutes of injury time and we didn't go to pieces but actually seemed to know what to do - really impressed with that.

Not that weird. I'm interested in how the likes of Brownhill and Tammy are developing and it surely is notable that Paterson was released by us but is Swansea's best player according to Sofascore.

I think it's normal to be interested in what happens to people you used to be close to - in life as well as in football. I've been particularly interested in how well Jamie Paterson's been doing at Swansea, for example.

Agreed - i kind of liked LJ albeit he stayed too long. If you think how many times he played for us, and his dad being one of our more successful managers you have to say he was / is a true Red! Whereas Ashton is just a beardy slime ball in a suit.

We were not at the races for the first 30 minutes after half time which was annoying because we looked solid at the back in the first half. We're still not much off an attacking force and were lucky with the deflected goal but the lads showed spirit and look much more promising

Good to see LJ giving Ashton's tractor boys a smacking. Got Sunderland into play off position too.

If we'd ever looked like scoring from it, OK, but as far as I've seen we always lose out to defenders out jumping us, so I don't see the point. Actually we seem to lose the ball from a lot of our throw ins. More work needed at the high performing place.

I'm sure you're right. Can't imagine he's much of an inspiration to any potential buyers of merch tho! He does look a bit more comfortable as a model than he does on the ball!
