Birmingham City away match thread

Agree Dave . Tanner had another good game last night . I do seriously wonder what some fans see. If we flooded forward & left ourselves exposed to get picked off they’d moan at that. I’m far from an expert I admit but what winds me up is fans slagging off the players without having the basic knowledge of the game at times. It’s fine to be disappointed not to win . However every game is different . Birmingham clearly set up to stop us getting down the sides & behind us. They seemed to play a high line previously imo . If they’d not lost to Stoke I actually think their tactics would have been different. Ten out of twelve points is very good . Beat Millwall then 13 from 15 over Christmas would be excellent . I do expect a similar game against them though. -

You get what I mean though. Some act like it’s a given we’ll win because we’re playing better. There is another team trying to stop us . Most of them have never kicked a ball or go to games. Belters . Is there any way , wanky opinions can be made as a emoji -

It’s true though. People are pissed off because we didn’t win tonight. Absolute bollocks. We win a few games & some are acting like we got a Devine right to win games . Idiots . as for the season of good will -

As manning has said. He has to rotate & also horses for courses. It’s a pretty thankless task being a lone striker., -

The runs around quote . He takes up positions /makes runs to not just get in himself but to drag defenders out of position for other runners -

Conway does a hell of a lot of unseen work off the ball -
If those three stayed down though they’d still have parachute payments next season along with three more that comes down. That’s 6 with PP at least

You’ve obviously not read my posts on manning & to be fair why would you . I was against Pearson’s sacking , especially the way it was handled. I’ve been 100% behind manning since he was appointed. He had nothing to do with the shambles that pre seeded him. My problem is with the lansdowns. I’ll always get behind any player or manager . We support the club & anyone who works for it. Not however who owns it. -

Again , missed my point which is . Without NP’s three years of firefighting we wouldn’t be in a position to build on. Perhaps that’s what he’s good at . -

Football doesn’t work like that though does it . There are more so called surprising results in the championship than any league. Any game is “winnable” really & I never said you wrote complacency but that’s how your post come across . -

I get that. What I’m saying is . Pearson did all the dirty work & got us back to a good base to build from . -

So , by being 2-0 up then3-1 we still controlled the game by letting them have the ball . -

What do you mean ? I get his point . i didn’t want Nige to be sacked . Can we please remember where we were just before he got given the job . A massive squad who’d down’d tools. A metaphorical cancer within the club . It was caused by the lansdowns & mark Ashton . Not once but for the second time in ten years . Pearson came in & did what SOD didn’t much better . I like mannings philosophy , but he couldn’t do it if nige hadn’t sorted the shitshow out before .- 889 replies

Agree. Didn’t occur to me . We signed him nearly six years ago . He’s been a brilliant signing . You’d love a squad of andi wiemann’s at any club at our level . Top pro

There some validity to your first paragraph . However your second is childish , severely lacking in respect at what Pearson did to rescue the club from a massive slide that under other managers wouldn’t have recovered from . My point is manning couldn’t do what he’s doing if NP hadn’t stabilised it first .- 889 replies

I do see that we’re adapting to games differently but not just how to stop them but how to exploit their weaknesses . He seems very horses for courses . I.E williams & knight’s energy against Livermore allowed us to get hold of midfield. I don’t really do stats but I was surprised to see Watford had more possession . It seemed like we constantly had possession /dictated/ controlled the game . -

Really impressed with us today. What he says about not getting emotional . I get it . We weren’t & with & without the ball we looked in control. Being very picky , but if we made 2 or 3 better decisions up top we could have had 6 today . I get why Sykes went for goal , he’s confident . A simple pullback though& Tommy had a tap in. Plus a few poor passes final third first half . Best all round performance since possibly the Man U game -

I put him on ignore but when his posts are quoted I can see them for some reason . Blokes a bloody hypocrite . Likes to have a dig at people but as soon as you say something back he says “ no need to get personal & starts crying. -

Sorry , nothing personal but I really dislike the part of your post “two winnable games” every game is very tough in this league . Drop our performance by 10% & we’ll get beat. no complacency .
