There will be games when we are rolled for 100 but I’d much rather see England play (even lose) in this manner than some of the turgid, meek performances I’ve had the misfortune to watch over the last few years.

If so I’d have Broad as captain for 18 months or so, think he’d work well with Langer and allow the future long term captain to be groomed - Crawley or Pope perhaps but obviously dependent on who can tie down a spot in the team.
