Not a shock after his public criticism of his players and the culture within the club. Surprised that it took Spurs that long to sack him.

In recent years Tottenham have had some quality managers but none of them have taken the club where they want to be. There’s a rumour that the Potch could well return………..:dunno:

Suggests it's not a manger problem then doesn't it and that Conte maybe quite right with his comments.

Not a Star, but an award.

The Michelin Guide has named 20 eateries given a Bib Gourmand award, including an impressive three spots hailing from Bristol.

Not been to any of Marmo, Blaise Inn or COR , any thoughts ?

I went to Marmo earlier this year. Has a lovely bistro vibe to it and the staff and wine are excellent. I though the food was great too, but they do like to play with some odd combinations (on the menu we had at least) which I guess could end up being a bit hit and miss depending on your taste! Would recommend though - definitely worth a try, we had a lovely evening there.

Want to try Pasta Ripiena next door too....

Im off to Montenegro in Sept

Never been there but will make a change

    Ah whereabouts?

We went last year for a week. Spent half the time up in the mountains, stayed in Žabljak and spent a few days exploring the Durmitor National Park, bit of white water rafting. Absolutely stunning scenery and feels like you've gone back in time a bit to, which was interesting.

Then for the other half we went back to Kotor on the coast. The old town is beautiful.

Off to Spiny Lobster this weekend. Has anyone been? Recommend any dishes?

I've had lobster there twice. First time was fresh in from Cornwall and it was incredible - the herb butter they use on it under the grill is amazing. 2nd time, the other week, it was a Canadian lobster, so would assume not quite so fresh - was very good, but not at previous lobster levels.

Mrs Turnip had skate and enjoyed and the halibut and monk fish looked amazing.

Can't go wrong there really - cracking little plaice.... ?

Is that the really nice sponge/cream/custard dish with nuts that they blow torch? If so, absolutely incredible pud.

That's such a shitty way out of it. I'm not a football manager it's not my job to decide on what needs to be done in recruitment or on the training ground. I'm also not a club ceo who can decide on who we bring in.

Its the same as me asking you do you think you are a good fan by blindly supporting a manager who clearly isn't good enough?

So you’ve responded to the 2nd 2 questions but not the first 2? Why not give those a go?

The King’s Head on Victoria St had a wonderful interior. Sadly it’s not been open since the first lockdown.

That's a shame, I used to work near there and much preferred it to the Cornubia and Shakespeare.

    Here's a 1976 review of the place.

Not sure the age of the article, but it's up for sale!

The lead guitarist I am told, started off playing in Ocean Colour Scene and he was amazing

Steve Craddock I believe - simultaneously lead gutairist for Weller's solo career and OCS. He did a some solo work a few years back as well. Not sure how well received it was, but watched him on the Grain Barge and he was excellent.

  10.

I'd suggest buying "Weird Bristol", think there are 2 books now, written by a local author.

They are broken down into a several chapters (each in a different area in Bristol) and are laid out in a series of walks. Each walk has about 10 stops on it with a significant "weird" historical story attached.

They're facinating and a nice way to have a wander around Bristol on a Sunday afternoon. Did the Castle Park one at the weekend!

  11. Went to Root at Wapping Wharf at the weekend. Mainly vegatarian small plates (tapas style), with a couple of meet/fish dishes, but don't let that put you offf - superb food and nice location/views.

Agree about Pasture and Little French - very good. And 7 Lucky Gods for the Korean Chicken alone!

So, let me get this straight. You "hope China burns" because you think a virus was born because "some sick minded Chinese person" ate a bat or lizard? What makes them sick-minded to you?

You claimed that this has been predicted by "the experts" for many years. Despite the warnings, you have nothing to say about the governments that failed to adequately prepare?

Nothing to say about the people ignoring governmental instructions when they finally came?

Nothing to say about the fact that the situation in China has been relatively well managed, compared to the rest of the world?

If you truly want what is best for the world right now, please keep your narrow-minded, bigoted and downright xenophobic thoughts to yourself. We don't need people like you.

Animal corona type virus's have been observed in animals including bats for years. Plus it's been observed and reported that a lot of chinese practises risk the mutation of the virus enabling it to infect humans. A ticking time bomb were the words used I think. I have no idea what presure was applied following this but so can't comment on that. Do you not think the Chinese goverment should have acted?

Whilst the risk was known, the particular strain and it characteristics could not be, so not sure how we could have prepared? What would you have done?

I'm not sure I believe we can assess who has managed it well at this point.

Should, as suspected, the virus be a result of chinese practises, I would hope they are dealt with accordingly and the goverment forced to deal with the risks the behaviour of some of it's people cause. Why wouldn't you try and prevent re-occurances?

To top it all, whilst I realise that the weaker members of our community are at risk of losing their lives , thousands die off each year with the flu . Why is this virus so much more important ?

I assume because we have no imunity. Therefore it will spread to more people, meaning more vunerable people will get it, meaning a lot more of them will die.
