The Dolman was anything but "standard build" at the time it was built. One of the very first with no pillars, multi purpose (bowls) etc. It was way ahead of its time. Just that it was built a long time ago, and that time has has passed and moved on since!

It was a standard build in that it was rolled out in indenti-kit format across the country.... it may have been ahead of it's time in design, but that exact design was put up all over the country. Something can be new and innovative without being unique.

Few posters looking at those photos and secretly thinking "hmm they do look a bit alike actually".

    Goodnight.

    Welcome... oh goodbye....

Yes they look similar as in the are structures containing banks of seats inside a steel and concrete structure that provides walk ways / concourse / toilets / food and drink facilities. The design inside and outside - not really, similarities in that there is only so much you can do to individualise a stadium, but the West Stand looks pretty unique, the South Stand has a nice clean sleek line to it both inside and out... Dolman / Atyeo - well they were built pretty much as a standard build in the days - rolled out all over the country, but I fullly expect them to be unique - though I expect them to remain for a long time as I have a suspicion the ground will be re-orientated at some point in the future !

Lucky that the sags can't afford internet or he would've got 1000 times as many.

Rounding off the top six were Bristol Rovers' Matty Taylor (493), David ball of Fleetwood Town (380) and Millwall's Steve Morison.

Fleetwood, the town with 26,000 residents ?

  4. So has the Mem been sold ? Heard from the gaseous side of the family it had been, which seems odd as presumably the owners would have a timeline in which they would want to do something with it, and not want people squating on the site. If true then UWE surely must start at least on some level soon.... or is it just more wishful thinking ?  Also heard a few jokes about Telegraph corruption and we should keep our heads down, pointed out that it was his team who just had it's owner duck out, pocketing cash from a Arab businessman, in a undisclosed deal.

Is that all you lot can throw at us? "Best players are borrowed". Ouch. You've got us!

As for 'instantly beino better then them". Where have we claimed that?

Ok Mcwinless didn't manage us in L1, secondly we were only in L1 for two seasons and in our second season we won the league by a country mile and the JPT.

Don't you have two Chelsea players on loan.

Most of you thread on your forum always mention City, it's just we have a single thread , there is no other mention on you on any other threads.

Yes we do ask why a club like Bournemouth can get in the Premiership and do know what is a hell of a league to get out of, so fair play to Bournemouth but we will be knocking on the door this season, not just my view but views of respected pundits and some of the top football journalist in the country.

Not sure how you can claim we bottle the big occasion , we got in the Championship play off in 08 ( this is not even a dream for your lot but a fantasy beyond all your expections) and lost but we all loved that season and no City fans have any regret , so how can you claim the team of 16-17 are bottlers that is just silly just like your post which are factually incorrect and full of nonsense.

We only have 2 loan players in our entire squad don't we ? Matthews and Tammy. Tammy is quite probably the best season loan acquisition by any team in the English League, so nothing to be embarrassed about there. We also have some young academy players out on loan ourselves.

someone shot on their way to a court.... but hey if it's relevant - I guess we are a English club and English owner - every child rape, murder, con artist, death in England I'll be sure to post and tag your name to it so people know who it's for/who's interested in it, after all it's relevant right ?

To answer a few concerns about our bribing of referees, can I quote the deluded forum?

"Since the Torquay home game on New Year's Day 2015,we went over 21 months without being awarded a penalty in a home league match (Walsall 13/9/2016) both dodgy ones mind you.Now had 2 in the last 11 days!"

So it's not all luck then.

Early days, but one point off the playoffs.

You must be horrified at the thought we might be coming for you.

Crap striker, crap manager, crap owner, crap fans. How is this happening?

League one is a harsh division, most teams are middling and beat each other, you will go on runs, then a losing streak, it will seem random as most clubs are on a par. There are a few teams that will rise to the top, it's those that spend a little money. There is not a embarrassment of riches in L1, any club willing to spend on those 4 - 5 better players can stay at the top of L1 and / or gain promotion - in fairness it's what we did, and there is little other clubs can do about it. You can be plucky / lucky for the odd game but over the season class prevails. If you want out of L1 you will need to buy those players. Your current tactic is the exact one all the other teams are using - evolution, team work, coaching, can do attitude, never give up, finding the odd gem, fight for each other.... everyone is doing this, what the other teams are not doing is spending £100,000 - £500,000 per player to gain promotion by buying class, as they simply do not have the money.

I don't think Taylor is a crap striker, he perfectly good in L2, probably ok for L1. Your manager again is probably a decent L2/L1 manager, your fans though a little dopey at times  are not really any different from fans from 100's of other clubs and to think you are would be delusional.

Your owners seems to have around £70 million in assets and some business acumen, which is more than a lot of clubs, how much liquidity he actually has to put into the club we don't know. But he seems a nice enough chap, he was shopping around for a club and settled on you - I imagine the Mem and UWE was a large part of that as there was the potential for a large asset grab for a moment in time. But I don;t see that he is not genuine in wanting to run the club and do well... hell I imagine we would all love to be club owners instead of whatever daily grind we actually do.

Your club is owned by Dwane Sports who are registered in your fans hated tax avoiding islands. Dwane Sports are also part of another entity, so until we see some accounts we don;t even know if your clubs debts were paid of, or just moved into another company for now.

If you get out of L1 it will depend one thing money, that extra % more than the other clubs in your league can do is buy quality players... so we will see if your owner steps up.

Anyway a belated welcome back to the football league....

One step closer to there being just One Team In Bristol

If the UWE stadium falls through they will be able to relocate to their new training ground and call themselves Almondsbury Rovers...

    http://developments.southglos.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=OCS0FUOKG6G00

There is nothing on the planning documents explaining whose land they are stealing this time.

Yikes, they have had planning permission for 15 years on that land, first submitted in 1998...... or was this going to be Almondsbury's local ground that never took of, and Rovers bought the land with it's current planning application agreement - if so pretty shrewed purchase.

Some telling points there Bert, with the usual painfully verbose attempts to extract some humour through imaginary quotes.  So much time taken to compose. So little wit as a result.

Why though, as ever, do you choose to make them on this forum?

    Others are available.

In all fairness your forums are full or clones, Bert would just be arguing all the time, get accused of being a City supporter and then banned... followed by lots of congratulations to the mods for banning him. Your forums pretty much have to tow the party line, stay with cloned talking points, and not rock the boat to much.... it's almost fascist like - but hey, that's how you keep people happy, create a illusion, a story, repeat it, make the fiction a perceived reality and stop as much outside influence as possible... North Korea could learn from you.
